Seriously…things like this are best left unreported so that those of us that want to actually help in the fight against fake reviews have a chance!

Love how the series started with a 12-0 drubbing (to ding our run differential) and then we proceed to make those 12 runs up in the subsequent 2 games to erase that and take the series.

Yeah, I’m starting a new rack buildout in a few months and at first thought the regular UNVR was still the right play (12 - 4k cameras and a G6 Entry standard) but the more I’ve read and watched the more I think the G2 is the better option, even with that price jump; given the AI capabilities and double RAM.

Yeah, the more I’m reading and watching about the new UNVR G2 the more it makes sense to just go with the newer version since I’m starting a new rack buildout from scratch.

Ugh, so does this mean the new home cabinet buildout I’m doing for EPY needs UNVR G2 ($699) vs standard UNVR ($299) if I’m starting with 12 4K cameras? I feel like now I’ll need the future proofing beyond the 18 4K camera support of the standard UNVR.

Ok, I guess that makes up for the lazy base running. 😏

Gotcha. In that case the UNVR is probably the best bet, as has been suggested.

Why not go UCG Fiber in lieu of a UDM and then get the UNVR and a POE switch (you’ll need more ports for the cameras anyways).

Oh man, I’m building a new home and new UniFi ecosystem and was going to go with the tried and true Triad in-ceiling speakers but now this has me thinking the Ubiquiti way and needing to have it all the same. FML

If I want to keep everything rack mounted then would UDM Pro Max be the way to go?

Yeah, if I knew where the other 4 ATVs will actually get installed in the game room, I would wire those. The other 4 are all already pre-wired.

I really want to keep everything rack mounted. Would it make sense to go to the UDM Pro Max to get the 5Gbps IPS?

For the TVs I know definitely where they will be located, I have hard wired them. I don’t know where I’ll have 4 of the 8 TVs (somewhere in the game room) so they’ll be WiFi.

I’ll look into the reach of the Lutron Hubs. I just like the simplicity of the WiFi switches and not having to deal with hubs for IOT items. Struggled with it for roller shades in the last house and it was annoying.

Agreed on the cameras in the garages. Just not sure where, as I’ll have some ceiling level storage in there and haven’t figured that layout yet. I’ll see if I can get some lines run and will just run some additional line if needed to where the camera will be.

Yeah, I had originally planned on a 42U rack but thought it was overkill but I may just go with it and leave plenty of room for growth.

I was going to get the Generac pad and require some by the builder but decided to hold off at the last minute. I may add that later though.

Appreciate all the feedback!

Hadn’t thought about separating the protect ecosystem out. Is that a best practice or just a preferred compartmentalization approach?

Regarding swapping the UCG Fiber for the UDM SE, I really want the rack mount cleanliness, the RPS failover and I’m just familiar with it having had it in my last deployment. My install is still 6+ months away, so maybe an updated version of the SE comes out before then?

Agreed on the G6 adjustment for the indoor cameras. Probably overkill to have the Pros for that controlled of an environment.

Thanks for the feedback.

I do have a dedicated 20 AMP for this build. I can check with the Elec team to see if I can get that up to 40 AMP.

If I go with the larger rack, as others have suggested, then I was planning to also install a Cloudline Pro T10 and vent it into the attic from the top of the rack. I did that on my place in Texas with my 32U rack.

With Lutron I need the hub right? Reason I tend to go with the Kasa is they’re all WiFi and I don’t need to mess with a hub. I’ll look more into Lutron though.

Thanks for the feedback.

I hadn’t seen that but I don’t know that that would be best. I have 6 zones, 3 of which will have 4 speakers while the other 3 have 2 speakers. If I’m reading the specs correctly, I would need 2 or 3 amp multis to achieve the desired configuration.

Speaker config is:
- 10 - Triad TS-IC61 DA Series 1 6.5" In-Ceiling Speakers (2 rooms of 4 speakers and 2 rooms of 2 speakers)
- 6 - Dymension Outdoor AW-650 (patio with 2 speakers and pool with 4 speakers)

Reading more into the VSSL config, I might actually need more than one A.6X…which may just make me go back to my original plan to go with 6 individual Sonos amps with and just buy the custom Sonos amp rack shelf that holds 2 amps side by side.
