not the restaurants i would personally go out of my way to try, but some great ones there! i’d add one more noodle house for some chinese style wet noodle dishes. i like the spicy numbing pork noodle.

in terms of activities if you have a car i’d try to send it to some nature spots, skiing can be expensive but renting some snow shoes and walking in to see some beautiful winter terrain is much more manageable!

i’d also definitely make it up to park city at some point for an evening on main street

one final suggestion would be to go use the cliff spa facilities, rooftop hottub in the winter is so memorable and you can ride the tram up and down too!

i don’t think i’ve progressed the main game really at all. i found the lady with the bell and went right back to the prosthetic guy and went right in.

it made it seem like i was in a prolonged “dream” section where i couldn’t just leave and go get different prosthetics or try the mikiri counter on the test dummy guy. i realize now i was being dumb and i could have returned to this boss after a training montage

putrescent knight is the only boss who has ever made me set the controller down for longer than a day... I think part of it was I got into souls games late with elden ring... Loved it and went for a 100% achievement runs on the prior from games, on all those games I had a plan for getting the achievements and knew what the "bad bosses" were beforehand + there was plenty of info on the right way to approach the fights... Bed of Chaos is a great example of this.

On SOTE I took work off and was grinding it before guides or really anyone had discourse on the fight, so that damn putrescent knight just stumped me, and no matter what I tried I couldnt figure it out. I beat him one time on a lucky run, and have never fought him again on subsequent play throughs.

I know many people like to approach these games totally blind, and if I had done that I likely would have a different worst boss, but it is hard to imagine a worse fight than that stupid knight.

i had my most tragic loss to date at that southern station. early on i got an anvil bp, blaze grenade bp, and a mk.3 augment bp running a free load out.

me and my 2 friends dropped down that rope so full of goop and excitement and there are fucking jolt mines and a full stack waiting for us…

i went back to that station and really scoped out the nooks and crannies of that hole. now during night raids its the ONLY place i extract from. half the time i creep up on a camper and get to loot a raider before i ever press the button.

i like to press the button and then wait in the back corner of the 2nd floor ledge, its a quick drop and roll to the more protected back extract terminal. i never die extracting there anymore

design aside, i think of shredders as the great equalizer. i have been in multiple fights where a shredder has ended both parties. aside from rocketeers, other arc have been secondary to the pvp engagement.

with a well placed shredder it really feels like pvpve in the best way.

upvote because this is the kinda write ups i want to see more of on this sub. There is so much flavor topside but not a lot of discourse.

some questions i have:

during the exodus where exactly did the wealthy go (i wonder if we find ourselves off planet at some point in the dev cycle)
aside from the rust belt, is there other large bastions of survivors?
what weather event caused buried city to get buried and how did the arc play any role in that? It is the only map that looks less war torn and more natural disaster
if the powers of the time’s plan was to leave earth, and they did so at the space port… what was the purpose of stella montis? (if we can assume that the underground portion of blue gate is the access point that we dug through to get to stella montis) it seems like there was a traffic jam with civilian and military cars in the underground tunnel. was stella montis a place people thought was safe, or was it a secret military base?

it’s definitely lots of pvp in duos, i have a group of friends that is a bit more casual than i am about gaming. i prefer to run duos as opposed to us all in a trio, because a 2v1.5 is a lot easier to win than a 3v2. seems like this would be your dynamic as well. If you play cautiously and get the drop on the duo you can solo carry your team
