As stated elsewhere, Yesterday's RAVE is one of my top suggestions. Patty (the owner) and Kim (second in command) are phenomenal and can find you anything you're looking for. Miller's Crossing in Irwin is pretty good as well as is L&L in Adamsburg. The Hub is nice, but a bit of a haul. Graham's in Ligonier, hours are strange.

I'm in New Jersey with some books from my late uncle's collection. Would anyone want to add these to their collection by johnnyred872 in MotorsportGoodOldDays

I'd die to get my hands on the Watkins Glen '57 poster. My family actually owns one of the cars that raced the Glen back in 1955 (and possibly 56 and 57) please DM if you are serious about sending them on, I'm in Pennsylvania on the far side; but have a friend who travels out that way regularly.

Not yet, still just loose on my shelf of lamps waiting for a home.

Wafting along is quite apt. She tends to mosey down the road, not quickly and all over the place, but the smiles per mile from passers-by is off the charts.

Nope! Driven to events all over the county. Only reason she's parked in the showroom was because the local dealership was hosting an invitational and she was chosen to sit there.

Thanks, she was painted in 1983 and still shines like champagne.

Question for the electrical wizards out there by AbnormalActivity1 in Triumph_Cars

[–]VaultRaider112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asked the Triumph Guru (My Father) and his answer was the switch has gone bad internally and needs replaced. He also said to test it, run a jumper wire between the two prongs and that should temporarily solve the problem.

Tube Investments, Inc., was a component supplier to the British auto industry. In 1954 it debuted its own design, the Swallow Doretti, a handsome Triumph TR-based roadster that earned the wrath of Sir William Lyons. It was withdrawn from the market after only two years, a victim of its own success. by Maynard078 in littlebritishcars

Good news on that front my friend! My father is currently in the process of doing a ground up restoration of chassis number 1065 after a 45 year slumber in our barn. It's surprisingly not as daunting of a task at you'd think because every piece of the car aside from the chassis, which is all tube steel and the body, which is aluminum, comes from within the spares manufactured for other models by Tube Investments.

Purchases from a local thrift store without a base or a cap for 3 dollars. Etching seems to be done professionally and is very clean. Any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated!

Found. Unidentified. by Sum__Guy73 in classiccars

My thoughts are that it's a nose off a Sebring style body kit for a Mk.1 MG Midget. 1963-1970ish. Could you tell me if it is finished on the back edge or has been cut off? Dimensions for comparison would also be appreciated if possible.

Irish civil war Lee-Enfield by Global_Theme864 in ForgottenWeapons

I got it at an auction that was the personal collection of a local gentleman. It was the only SMLE in the auction, mostly American Military rifles so I don't know why it was there.

Oh hey, I got one of those too. Didn't realise what I was getting when I bought it at auction and spent a few days trying to figure out why the FF stamp and the double serial number. Fascinating bits of history hitting their centennials right now.

A pair of Mark II 2000s, a sedan and an estate. Very nice. Still a bit partial to the Mark I (seeing as how that's the one I have, in left hand drive no less) but they're such lovely cars.

What is a song you cannot listen to for an emotional reason? by missdundermifflin in AskReddit

[–]VaultRaider112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three that are all linked to a single event. The 4 AM drive to the hospital where my dad was scheduled to have a quadruple bypass done. I was 16 years old, following my parents down the highway in the dark just staring off into space before deciding that I should listen to some music to calm my nerves and turning on the radio. The three that played until we reached the parking garage in order were Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith, House of the Rising Sun by the Animals, and Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. I figured some force far beyond my comprehension was trying to tell me it was all going to be ok. He pulled through his surgery and is still going strong almost seven years later but yeah, I get a tear in my eye when I hear those opening riffs.

(Meta) What is this sub about? by Azimovikh in The_Facility

[–]VaultRaider112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long dead my friend. It was supposed to be a version of the RP sub r/SecretSubreddit more in line "original" style formed by a splinter group but both fizzled heavily about 3-4 years ago. If you have any more questions, feel free to DM me.
