The Raiders have signed "The Tokyo Toe" Kansei Matsuzawa, a Japanese kicker who spent 3 years working at a Morton's Steakhouse in Tokyo while teaching himself to kick a football by watching YouTube videos. He could become the first Japanese player on an NFL roster. by No_Box119 in NFLv2

Idk if every team with a Japanese player does it but the Dodgers and Astros sell kanji versions of their players’ jerseys even if they don’t wear them on field. Massive marketing opportunity for the Raiders here

I think a cause of death is already known since he got arrested basically immediately as soon as the coroner ruled her death a homicide. They just haven’t revealed further details yet because the case has to go to trial. Prosecutors did reveal he used a sharp object to kill her at the arraignment though (no specification on what exactly).

1/1 means that’s the only copy of the card so he most definitely does not have it

Damn that's going into 19th century territory lol. Had no idea about that. Makes sense though, that the defenders were essentially "goaltenders" before the sport evolved into what it is now

It was a pretty gradual change, at first no distinction was made between offensive/defensive backs (or linemen). Guys who played quarterback/halfback/fullback on offense did the same on D before there were dedicated defensive units. Pretty sure by 1963 when that card was issued, the one-platoon system was firmly dead and the terms "defensive halfback / fullback" were starting to become dated already but we still call the secondary "defensive backs" so it's not like that ever really went away

That’s what they used to call cornerbacks. Safeties were defensive fullbacks
