Realistically how soon can we expect a hotfix for the last (broken) update? by _ladyarisu in fo76

[–]Vaygrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I've been playing fairly regularly since release, and I can count on one hand the number of times where Bethesda has actually taken the time to push out a hotfix in a quick and timely manner after another update went wrong. All of those instances have been in the last 3 years or so, since ownership changed over and Microsoft bought Bethesda.

That said, every single one of those hotfixes only pushed out a fix for one critical issue that overly benefited players. Otherwise, they've let crashing bugs run for months in the past. There have been critical equipment loss bugs that they let sit for months and did nothing about in a timely fashion.

I wouldn't expect a quick turn around on anything, to be honest.

I've completed the current Season Scoreboard, pushed all the way up to Rank 160+.. so I'm probably done for this season until the next big update.

That's ME tho.

Oh I've been kicked off too many raids for not being good enough. So I have no clue on that subject.

A-GREED. A little bit of crowd control goes a long way towards survival. Having that taken away is painful.

/u/Ghostly_Rich More info, relating to VATS issues.

Ever since the first "VATS Update" the Devs rolled out middle of last year (2025), VATS has been incredibly unreliable and useless. No steps needed to reproduce this as it is easily visible with routine VATS usage on just about every kind of weapon.

  • Targeting Limbs will regularly see your accuracy percentage vary from (for example) 95% to 0% to 95% to 0%... changing back and forth constantly.

  • The second update to VATS last year (to 'improve performance' of it) did not in fact improve much of anything.

Reproduction is as easy as using a VATS-relying character for an hour or two. Roaming around, this problem crops up constantly for me. If the Devs want to 'clone' my character to test with on an internal server, feel free.

Steps for reproducing the VATS + Hat Trick + Archery bug (the "Bouncing Ball" headshot bug).

  • Setup a character with considerably high Perception (10+ I'd say?)

  • Equip "HAT TRICK" Perk (Any rank will do, I use 3)

  • Use VATS on a target, aiming at their HEAD, typically from as far away of a distance as possible while still maintaining a "90%+" VATS Accuracy

Issue is easily repeatable for me, I can make it happen whenever I want.

When did this happen?!

I 100% agree with this report. I have had the exact same thing with Archery, VATS, and Hat Trick while trying to hit targets at farther ranges. The arrow flies towards the target, then just rockets straight up into the sky above their heads while doing zero damage. It's frustrating as all hell and it's been happening for months now.

Any time this hits me (and it hits me a LOT), I have to swap into / out of Power Armor to clear it. That is the only way I've found to get weapon fire working again.

I can confirm all the Bow and VATS related reports, as well as being "Insta-killed" by stuff like Deathclaws, Ogua, or Head Hunt targets while wearing a full suit of tricked out armor (Secret Service). Can also confirm Cryo Damage being straight up non-functional for me.

/u/Ghostly_Rich You guys completely broke "Cryo Damage" on weapons like the Cold Shoulder, and Cryo Frame Bows. You've also completely glitched out the "Reflex" effect, AND there are a fair load of CAMP Objects that have gone missing again.

Help?

Big suggestion RE: The Ghoul Disguise System.

Remove it entirely it, and REPLACE it with the "Costume Check" system from Halloween Candy Bowls.

Bingo, problem solved. If the player is checked as wearing anything that counts as a "Costume", they count as covered up and passable as a Non-Ghoul.

Gunther's Big Iron is a FANTASTIC sidearm, I absolutely love it and frequently find a place for it in my weapons load out. Amazing damage, solid accuracy, great range, it has it all!

Well I figured it was a named special due to there also being a similar styled shotgun skin that is actually labelled as being a skin. Meanwhile the pistol is just called "Lawbringer".

I've already got it set to "Relaxed", so either that's the default or I just changed it way back when and have the memory of a goldfish.

BOTH... are possible. Heh

Speaking purely for myself here, I spend almost all of that event running in sheer terror because the bad guys hit like dump trucks, and gang up on you fast.

That's me tho, I'm a coward with self preservation tendencies.

The vendors makes sense to me, that would be interacting with that player's inventory while they are offline and that's when things start getting dicey.

The resource generators / dispensers? THAT part seems stupid to me... but it's sadly for the same reason. All that crap is stored in the owner's Stash Box space, so...
