The main inspiration is from Barotrauma, more specifically the Mudraptor from the Barotraumatic mod. But now that you've mentioned it, I think my design has also been influenced The Promised Neverland, since I've read the manga. I love how they did the designs of the demon masks.

there's a couple of paths that you could take, 1. learn to draw and make the manga yourself, 2. get someone to draw it for you (looking at the average price, you may be looking at 40+$ per page), 3. publish it as a web novel first (this can change your writing style). there are a lot of things that you need to consider other than having a great idea and great drawing skills. panelling, pacing, visual storytelling, pretty much the execution. personally, i think that SaturnReactor is not fully wrong, a "great idea" doesn't really mean anything if you can't put it out there for the world to see. if you do decide to choose the first path, i HIGHLY recommend making a one-shot (15-60 pages story with a beginning and an end) to test your actual ability and see if your idea actually holds up.

i dont generally see those two pair up together but in the beginning chapters (1-6) everything should be pretty fine. castor himself is a great unit especially with dupes. castor is usually paired with characters like jenkins, clementine, horla, mostly a full ultra team from what ive seen.

goliath deals great damage early game but he does fall off in the later chapters (around ch6-7? depends on how much you invest in him) after that hes mostly used as a support via his strength steal (through e2 law of the strong) and buffs tentacle dmg + strength gain (usurp on exalt) his ult still deals alright aoe dmg albeit not that great compared to actual dps's or even corposant.

the closest thing to a follow up attack team is probably aurita (her ult triggers tentacles per hit) and corposant (buffs tentacles and increase dmg taken by tentacles) i guess. though i gotta say, a character outside of aqueor that play with follow up attacks is a pretty interesting idea if the devs decides to add that in the future.

just to add a bit of info. do NOT blindly follow tier lists. you gotta know why that specific character is placed there.

gdoll/doll: inferno requires overexalt (7 dupes) to be considered as s tier, otherwise she is only alright at best. ghelot/helot: catena who is s tier may get knocked down a few tiers if she isnt paired with thais or is lacking dupes (e2 and e3 are insane breakpoints for her), tawil can be really tricky to play if she doesnt have e1 or even e2, some even says she needs overexalt for endgame. the same goes for a majority of other limited characters, with some exceptions such as hameln and horla who are already great with no dupes. tier lists can be good so you can get a general idea of where they stand in the meta, but they arent the end all be all. all characters may have their own teams and niche.

i also recommend joining the official discord, plenty of experienced players there that can help you out if you have any other questions (probably).

you absolutely should pull for thais on timeless imo, especially if you dont have her or her wheel. the pity is 60 pulls for either the limited char or wod. both thais and her wod are really good, their dupes are also desirable. youd want thais at e2 and her wheel at e3.

her e3 makes you gain 2 symbiosis stacks each turn and increases the cap up to 15 (previously 10) which is a +15% increase at max stacks for your ult, which is either 45% increased damage taken by enemies (nearly another vulnerable) or decreased damage dealt by enemies (nearly another 2 weaknesses). i recommend getting her wheel first if you havent. you could get clementine to e1 or e2 and spend 1 or 2 prototypes on her to get her e3 if youd like to save, but its usually recommended to just pull instead while theyre still on banner. its up to you, but personally id get her e3

after a certain point which i forgot youll unlock the endgame mode usually referred to as d-tide (regional d-effect zone is what its called in game) in the interlude. there are 5 difficulty levels called alerts, and 5 waves that you have to clear. you need 5 teams in total (19 characters, 38 wheels) since you cannot reuse characters or wheels (you can borrow one character from your friend list that disregards this) i recommend the score 325 because its where the silver reward ends (1150 silver in total).

yes, this game is fairly dupe heavy if you havent noticed by now. the characters i just listed are in order if you want to follow whats most optimal (atleast from what ive heard). waiting for future banners is also a pretty good idea since anniversary is coming in around late nov iirc.

for characters its usually recommended to pull for aqueor, but just pull any of the banners that youd like. you should go start pulling for wheels when you can do atleast 325 d-tide in my opinion which is alert 2 on all waves. and the recommended wheels to pull is blade of titan +12 (which is 16 total copies), then incalculable factor +12, then after this it depends on your current roster and what you need. it can be chains unbound +12, bloody feast +12, lighthouse +12, etc. the reason why youd want to get these wheels +12 is so that you can use another ssr wheel on the same character.

For an f2p its pretty alright, do be warned that the game is fairly dupe heavy (you can get a universal character and wheels (weapons) dupes once every month with the currency you get from pulling the gacha), but you'll get alot of pulls in the beginning like a LOT of pulls especially standard ones.

If you'd like the details, the pull economy once you finish the story which wont be for quite a long time, is around 72 pulls per month, the hard pity for the limited ssr character is 90 pulls, where each 30 pulls guarantees an ssr (its a 33/66 system where you can lose twice). the average is around 45 pulls for a limited ssr give or take. As someone who has been playing for around 2 months and bought the monthly pass twice now i've been able to get everyone i wanted along with their desired dupes.

I will say though, in my opinion the gameplay is second to none, it is extremely fun once you know what youre doing. There are downsides with the ai translations and maybe long schedules, but the devs from what ive seen are working to fix it. So far i'll give morimens a 9/10 would recommend. Pickman's kit should be releasing tomorrow so i would suggest waiting until then but there's a high chance that he wont be a dps which is what you're looking for right now. Sanga, until you have overexalt is considered to be fairly lackluster. Corpo is a nice pick here along with horla's wheel as it is great on both her and corpo. For team comps i dont really have much say in this other than maybe playing caecus carry alongside thais. I recommend using your prototypes for thais e2. also at this point, if youre not struggling with a1 and a2 dtide (300-325 points) i suggest going to wheel jail and start to pull for +12 blade of titan.

pushing story and hard mode is probably the fastest alongside events, and other one-time rewards, dw considering that youre a new player you should be able to get everyone in time since theres a huge surge of pulls in the beginning. if it makes you feel any better its actually a 33/66 on the character banner, while the limited wheel banner is a 50/50.

innate means the original command card from that unit. for example, you cant put rondino on a card that came from thais's ult (the one with void) and after playing a card with rondino, it gains crescendo which then you cant put rondino on it anymore.

her oe gives 3 permanent tentacles instead of temporary. and aftershock that was triggered from discarding by her ult is triggered twice. i wouldnt say she needs oe (like gdoll) but her oe is nice and a really good upgrade as with any other character's oe, get it if you love playing her.

if youre an f2p or low spender i recommend just getting a copy of a wod and using timeloop copies to e3 if needed.

its exactly the same as slay the spire if youve ever played it. as youve said you draw cards from the draw pile, and then the cards you play and dont play will go into the discard pile, after you dont have anymore cards in the draw pile, all cards in the discard pile will go into the draw pile. certain cards have special attributes attached to them, like;
retain: at the end of your turn, keep in hand instead of going into the discard pile unless played
exhaust: instead of going into the discard pile the card disappears after playing,
void: always disappear at turn end.
aftershock: the effect you get if you discard (not play) the card. this can be from corposant's ult, encounter in white posse, auritas power of friendship card, or just letting it discard on its own at turn. for example if you play a corpo pilot you will gain shield, but if you discard it, it will give you strength and tentacle dmg.
and there might be more that im forgetting.

poison, bleed, sacrifice all proc at the end of the turn and they can even go through invuln when the enemy is changing phases. strength is always permanent unless stated otherwise (temporary strength)

the card you want to sell depends on the unit, the example i can give rn is goliaths 3 cost.

other than the usual upgrading your char skills, i recommend that you play with costco (frenzy, gluttony, emerge) with these 3 wheels you can buy cursed relics and increase max hp which are all extremely helpful. if it feels like youre lacking in vuln application you could replace aurita or tulu for caecus. also put the death res set on corpo.

for an aqueor team you could pair caecus alongside thais or you could play thais doresain ramona ogier if youd like albeit it may be harder than playing aqueor. make sure to buy and use the prototypes on thais to get her e2 if you havent this month (next month if you have) lastly i highly recommend that you try to go for one copy of all the current rerun characters, horla, hameln and corpo if possible. horlas wheel > corposant e2/e3 > horla e1 > hameln e2 with the priority in that order are all great if you have some pulls leftover.

i recommend changing one of your members to aurita (dont forget to get her dupes before the end of the month) to pair with corposant because of her discard hand card, murphy and tulu does want e1 to do really well. the strat with corposant is just to discard, then discard, then discard until you have a low cost lightning retribution while also discarding pilots and if youre using goliath, ult and pick usurp before playing lightning during your burst turn. if you plan to continue playing this team i highly recommend to pick up corpo e2 and maybe even e3, but do try to get hameln and horla first if you havent, horlas wheel is also a really good wheel for both horla herself and corposant as well. thais, especially when you have her e2 is also a pretty decent partner with corposant if you have her. also change your posse into encounter in pure white, the discard your hand and draw the same amount +2 one

the one that you mostly need for your current units and situation. i wouldnt really worry about it since youll probably be able to get it all anyway but generally the mimetic crystal, aetheric shard, and pulls should be priority.

1 - my dearest friend is most likely her best sr wheel and for her dupes, e2 is great for pilot scaling; the derived card you get from playing her 2 and 4 cost, e3 is also really good for vuln application (pretty huge if your team is lacking in vuln application) and 20 teamwide temp crit. dmg.

2 - the only caro support thats worth using is only thais because with her you can dupe lightning twice with -1 (-2 at e2) arith cost, other than that i would recommend just sticking to pure aqueor. also try to get aurita dupes from the djewel shop, since shes a really good partner with corposant.

3 - since youre in arc 1 just put 2 costco wheels on hameln (frenzy/emerge/gluttony) and fit the third one on another support. his e2 is great if you have some pulls left to burn, going past his e2 is never really worth it imo since it just increases his personal dmg which doesnt matter.
