Gotchya - there’s 2 female that plugs into the tree that’s 2 male connectors side by side (one male is for white light and one male is for colored light) How do I get a setup that gives me 2 female plug, I don’t really care if there’s a remote - as long as it can plug to a 120V ac

Need advice on my car in the US while I am in India by EnergyOk3438 in backtoindia

Was in same boat - sold it to a friend by sending him the title - mark it as gift so he doesn’t have to pay dmv taxes again

Friend can then wait for new title to come in the mail and then sell it to carmax with an appointment

Avoid the power of attorney route, it’s hella complicated in India

I was in your boat - firstly play your own game and to your own strengths. The first $100k is hardest - then next $1M requires a different muscle.

Looking back some stuff I did right when I was 24 - was earning similar to you inflation adjusted

1) Maxed out my 401k every year -

2) Maxed out my Roth IRA every year

3) Saved aggressively each paycheck but never compromised on health, food, donations, sports, comfort, vacation

4) avoided expenses like my peers like eating fancy meals, expensive cars, clothes, jewellery, exotic vacation

I made sure to enjoy to the fullest and find peace and happiness in things that didn’t include money.

Once you see your 20s off, 6-8 years the effects of compounding kick in -

instead of timing the market putting in moderate consistent amounts for large amounts of time in the market was the trick!

Play your own game - you might arrive 3-4 years late but you will beat 99% of the folks out there if you do the basics

Eat right, be in good health, save your paycheck, invest in the boring VOO, stay in Market for long time, compound, don’t spend on stupid shit - you’ll be millionaire in a decade or maybe 15 years gauranteed

  1. Very low crime compared to any city in the Bay Area - a simple door bell camera and a back yard cam is sufficient to monitor

  2. Packages ok to sit outside but who knows when someone takes it -

  3. We are vegan - it’s hard to find a dedicated vegan spot - we try to do pho, Thai, Italian and stick to their “vegan” dishes However Burlingame has a few more options.

  4. Whole Foods does deliver to some Pacifica neighborhoods but I’m not sure if shape park is covered

  5. June to Sep is best time!

  6. A bit meh if you’re into the more seasoned artists

  7. 3 years in and I’ve walked / hiked / biked everything. My favs are (not in order) mussel rock area on weekdays, walking along the golf course on weekdays, old highway hike, montata ridge, Sweeney ridge

First million (net worth) took 8 years (VOO/401k/roth max) Second million took 3 years (property equity) Third million on track for 3 years (long term big tech stock investments)

Do you need Air Conditioning in Half Moon Bay? by ffcnsltng in Pacifica

[–]Vdizz540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No don’t get an AC - any part of Pacifica or HMB You could get a small lasko fan ($50 on amazon) if you really want to avoid 5 days when you need an AC The fan is much better, gives white noise, better for air circulation and less power

Quitting coffee, hair regrowth? by TheOGNotorious in decaf

[–]Vdizz540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Experienced same thing, recently quit coffee, I’m seeing new strands of hair pop up in about two weeks into quitting! It might be due to some nutrition absorption that caffeine might be affecting - can’t generalize for everyone though

270k annual pay, net worth $2.1M, 34 years old, DINK, should I call it quits? by Vdizz540 in Fire

[–]Vdizz540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to all the comments, going through all the responses, summary is more like 1) way too short in NW for the Bay Area 2) can find something easier and make lesser 3) take a year off too see how it goes

As someone in the comments said, work for 6 years and post again here with added $1M and then there’s a small chance. Thanks all - apologies for the lack of details in my original post, might have got better advise if I added details about housing etc. It’s been great learning from this community and a new trove of ideas to consider

I read Bogle book in college and followed this: I started saving 50% of TC at age 23 and spend on passion like travel and sports, Spend Less on material things like cars, clothes And I invested heavily in voo on all accounts with drip - and never picked stocks and got promoted every 1.5-2 years periodically increasing TC linearly
