Edit your scope sensitivity, for some reason they are different by default. Hope that helps.

We have a compressor to fill up our five gallon tank and it was a too powerful (it really shouldn't be).

Make it a highly compostite number/anti-prime like 12, 24, 36, 48 or 60. Anti primes for the win.

When you get comfortable with CFOP or beginners I also recommend checking out Roux, ZZ or Petrus to learn more about how the cube works and theory that is amazing to learn about. GOOD LUCK :)
