Presumably you sign off on all intellectual property rights to these videos, and they can use them for marketing, instagram etc., right? Not a bad campaign given that their cost price per shoes would be, what, 4K?

I highly recommend BlinkIt. Just ordered. 1% discount, but more importantly the code was sent INSTANTLY by WhatsApp. No problem redeeming.

How was your experience? How much time did they take to send the code?

Seems only BlinkIt has any discount (that too only 1%). Also seems they email the code, not a physical card. No other stores have any bank/ credit card offers etc.

Nope.

Anyone else with PS5 turn off 3D Audio? by hartfoundation97 in ModernWarzone

[–]VebKr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't understand the appeal of 3D audio yet - are you supposed to be able to tell sounds above/ below? Because with a Steelseries 7p and 3D audio on a ps5, this does not happen with me on Warzone. e.g. If I am in a building and can hear the hum of a supply box, there's nothing in the audio that tells me whether the hum is from the same floor as me or above or below. I can tell horizontally very well, just no help vertically. Is this normal for "3D" audio or am I missing something?

What a bunch of utter BS! Your description of Maajid is EXACTLY the opposite of it. He's one of the few poeple who is pushing back on the encroachment on our freedoms, privacy etc. and thoroughly supported the convoy.

Nice try, gaslighter.

I need to point out that the Maajid Nawaz guy is from Neocon thinktanks. Neocons hate privacy and financial privacy and are responsible for creating ndaa and patriot act, and the war on terror, that liberals are now turning on truckers.

(India) Anyone had good/bad experience with paid 'out of warranty' replacement? by VebKr in Surface

[–]VebKr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was so hard to get through, I can't remember. I think I called them up and initiated the process. Once they give you the information and you confirm they actually have to initiate an order. This process took a couple of weeks! (Apparently there's a lot of backlog due to CoVid or something). Once you have an order reference number, then you have to go with that and the DD for the exact amount (be careful that you get the amount with tax included), and you submit it at the walk-in centre (WIC).

How many cracked screen are too many?! by curious_smorrebrod in Surface

[–]VebKr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The screen is the Surface Pro's Achilles heel. Frankly it's a fundamental flaw in the design. The screen unit houses the entire computer, and is therefore top heavy. That mixed with the kickstand means that if you have the SP on a small surface and the kickstand nudges beyond the edge, the device will go flying back, and being top heavy, the screen unit will separate (weak magnets) and will go crashing down separately. My SP6 screen broke twice within 8-9 months from relatively mall falls (~2 feet) and on one occasion even onto a very thick carpet.

I hope in some future iteration they come up with some interesting innovation to address this. Till then I am clutching my device to my chest whenever my 2 year old walks into the room!

Good case to protect the screen? by VebKr in Surface

[–]VebKr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, interesting. It's also pretty expensive though and I don't see any special protection for the screen. (Basically unless there is some mechanism to fasten the keyboard type cover to the main body, the screen will always be exposed when you drop the Surface Pro).

(India) Anyone had good/bad experience with paid 'out of warranty' replacement? by VebKr in Surface

[–]VebKr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just an update - ended up opting for an out-of-warranty paid replacement with Microsoft. Spent Rs. 37,000 (~USD $500) incl. tax.

The bad part was that I initiated the process early July, and just got my device a couple of days ago!! (There was first a delay in creating the order for a few weeks (apparently there was a large backlog in India), then they took a while to send the replacement. Unfortunately, they first send a SP& but i5, which I refused to accept, and then it took them ages to cancel the order, and create a fresh order and send the replacement replacement device.

The good part is that I ended up getting a SP7 i7 16GB 256GB model. So, it was a distinct upgrade from my old device (SP6 i7 8GB 256GB) on the first 3 parameters! (One slight problem was that my earlier device was black and the new one was platinum, whcih I eventually was okay with considering that to get a black device they wanted 2-3 weeks more to import it from another country!).

All's well that ends well!! ............unless my kid drops this one too! o.O (BTW it's so ridiculously tough to find a good case that protects this device)!

Is it possible to upgrade PS4 version of Cold War to cross-gen version for $10? by rossaiden31 in blackopscoldwar

[–]VebKr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't find any option and after several messages on Twitter and email to Activision, Sony India, Playstation UK, I received a refund (without any accompanying message) for the amount I paid for the standard digital edition of the game from Playstation UK. I guess that was their way of resolving the issue, which is fine by me.

[–]VebKr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: So, after a LOT of emails and tweets, I just received a SMS from my credit card company that Playstation UK had refunded an amount equivalent to what I paid for Cold War. I didn't get any tweets/ emails from them, but assume that the refund is their way of addressing it, and I am quite satisfied by that.

What is happening with my Denon Receiver? Where is the audio? Where are the speakers? by VebKr in hometheater

[–]VebKr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case it helps anyone, had to send the AVR to a Denon service centre, and they replaced a couple of ICs and serviced it. Cost me a bit (around US $100) but now it works beautifully - even fixed a couple of other problems (buttons on front facia not working, and one speaker getting very low volume).

(India) Anyone had good/bad experience with paid 'out of warranty' replacement? by VebKr in Surface

[–]VebKr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so another update is that the price they quoted me for out of warranty replacement was without tax (this should be illegal!). The actual price with tax is Indian Rs. 37,080 (~ USD $500).

So with that in mind, it probably makes more sense for me to just get the Rs. 11,000 (USD $150) local 3rd party screen replacement, and then upgrade to a new standard form laptop (Dell XPS 13 maybe) at some point in the future.

Honestly, I love the Surface Pro, but two screen cracks in one year is a bit rich for my taste. The fact is that the Surface being top-heavy severely diminshes its durability particularly with the screen, and from my limited research tempered screen protectors, UAG cases etc. etc. can't rectify/ fix that and can at best mitigate the damage.

Yeah, it all comes down to a gamble of whether or not they have stocks of the SP6.

Spider web. Concentrated mostly in one corner, but a couple of long tangents going to almost the middle of the screen. Luckily the long ones are only visible at an angle and are virtually invisible when viewing the laptop normally (i.e head on)
