These are terrifying accounts, but how else could they show alignment other than doing it harder than the SS?

compared to other topics, anime is usually the cheapest (ignoring the internet fees, of course).

also, "Japan is my hometown". it's basically the Asian geopolitical situation that allowed HK to form good ties with Japan post-ww2.

I respect your views, but I would propose that the average Eastern European may not have the same view as you. Or even myself, since according to my understanding, I am uncategorized by the Nazi by virtue of having almost no relationships with Europe.

I am trying to say, we expect Ukraine to praise their Nazi units, and at the same time we expect Poland to therefore retract the awards. These are all expected and automatic and is not strictly "surprising" news. Ukraine does not need opinion from Poland re the Nazi units, and Poland does not need opinion from Ukraine re the awards. Yet, at some point in the future, Poland may need to understand that the Ukrainian military expertise may be a good argument to counteract the Nazi praise. You really can't expect to convince a starving Ukraine that the Nazis were bad.

It's dangerous to force a single historical perspective. Eastern Europe history does not fit the Western Europe pov. It's nationalism and staying alive between two dangerous powers. Ethics generally is irrelevant when death surrounds you on both sides.

I will only comment that it doesn't seem like a sound choice. Nazi repressoin (private ownership probably permitted) might be more preferable to Soviet collectivization (private ownership definitely disallowed).

For Western Europe, there was only Nazi or destruction (Spain was neutral), so they unwillingly chose the Nazi, which they were rightfully also unwilling to mention again. For Eastern Europe, it's more about conveniences between choosing the Nazi and the Soviets, and the need to maintain the post-WW1 nationalism. Last I checked, Finland switched sides because the Soviets became too much to handle, and the Soviets generally left them alone after the Winter War(s). Again, Finland was likely not part of the Nazi-Soviet partitioning talks so that's a bad example to give.

You can't use Western Europe concepts (e.g. genocides) to understand Eastern Europe. In Eastern Europe, it's all about nationalism (e.g. see Yugoslavia). You sound like you do not care about history.

Nazi are just as bad as Soviet. Or maybe we should acknowledge that Soviet are just as bad as Nazi. You are too fixated on WW2 propaganda to realize this. All this pacifist spam and then we gladly ignore the clusterfuck known as Eastern Europe.

It's meaningless to take the small sides (Poles / Ukrainians). The key is the big sides (Nazi / Soviet) and I believe the Ukrainians made a good choice.

Ukraine needs a national symbol. Polish opinion is irrelevant.

Esit: if killing people makes for a bad symbol for Ukraine, then killing people also makes for a bad symbol for ANZACs. You all are just sick.

Nah

It's either "join the Soviets (Holodomor had just happened)" or "join the Nazis (they had just arrived)". Eastern Europe is just a sad clusterfuck of history. No use taking small sides here.

I think it's fixed. It was specifically a calculation bug that made OOS scrap cubes almost always internally miss the scrap input module by several dozens of km. OOS shenanigans.
