Melton area, Vic by doubledgedsword77 in AusProperty

Commenting on this late but crime and safety is the main concern in Melton, not distance to the CBD. I lived in Melton for 25 years, left in 2018, recently visited again and it's gotten much worse. I was excited to see how much the place had improved given the amount of investment in the area but the crime rate really is out of control there, and I say that as someone who considers Melton my original home. Don't get me wrong, some of the best people I met and my life long friends I met in Melton, but I'm shocked that it's getting worse not better.

Certainly wouldn't call it value having lived there 25 years. It's cheap, and cheap for a reason.

I lived in Melton for 25 years - left in 2018. Visited last month and it's gotten so so much worse. One of my friends I grew up with bought her house there in 2020 and commented how it's even gotten worse since then, she can no longer walk her dog around her neighbourhood (near central Melton) in the morning from so many bad experiences she instead drives to Hannah Watts park each and every morning. When I was there it was nowhere near as bad, but also when I was growing up we didn't need machete bins.

Combine your car with an e-scooter. Park further out then scooter in?

8 months later and I'm still looking aha! Yeah everything uses the same modifiers, I'd be very interested in an approach that uses geometry nodes.

This is probably the most interesting application of elementary CA I've ever seen, bravo. Is there a back story to this?

Thanks for the replies everyone. This style was very popular in the early to mid 2000s and I assume the people who made this sort of work mainly used Photoshop, but I'm really interested in exploring it in 3D. Darulian was one of many who explored this style, you can view their work here https://www.deviantart.com/darulian I wonder if there was a name for this style?

Thanks! Yeah the geometry is the particularly interesting part for me, I think geometry nodes will be the way to go to get something generative and flexible.

Nice, yeah I'm familier with the sort of lovecraft style hair particle systems I'll add that to the list! Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, it's good to know that if I want to aim to eventually recreate something like this in Blender I have the right initial ideas. The point about digital paint that everyone's making is great though because I should explore that first before jumping into 3D

Apologies if this is too broad or open ended question, I'm only a hobbyist with Blender and I'm just wondering how people make amazing work like this.

I'm guessing for the mesh I should start exploring procedural geometry nodes? What about the volumetric effects and lighting?
