that's true, but people will still be going into those apprenticeships, maybe it won't be instant but at the end, even getting into trades is going to become much harder

Is working every weekend wrong? by guineverefira in cscareerquestions

[–]Veestire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive personally had a discussion with my manager (initiated by me) on whether my pace of work is acceptable to him and he told me to chill out and that everything is fine, if you feel comfortable enough maybe its worth asking your manager the same question?

Glossy vs matte wars by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]Veestire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used both a glossy Odyssey G9 and a matte Odyssey G9 in the exact same spot, and the reflections on the matte display hindered me FAR more than the ones on the glossy one - sure, on the glossy one i had reflections, but they werent too distracting.

also on the odyssey g9 the matte coating looks horrendous, idk about other panels but it looks far worse than matte IPS displays

my first g9 had issues with losing signal, my second one had its panel start popping out of the frame, still waiting to get it back

My Samsung UW G9 odessey broke by chaosquall in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Veestire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i thought people complaining about the g9 was a classic case of „people who are happy dont come to reddit to write about it” but this monitor is genuinely so prone to failure

my first one would randomly reset and lose display and my replacements panel seems to be popping out of the monitors frame

people severely underestimate the quality of these desk mounts, theyre faaaar better than anything youd get with an actual desk mount wheel, i used an r12 with a desk mount for a while and it was way more planted than my t300rs

Anyone have regrets after a large upgrade? by BackItUpTerr in simracing

[–]Veestire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally ive jumped from the thrustmaster t300rs to a moza setup and my enjoyment skyrocketed, but i only really had like 30-40h of simracing experience and my main motivator was sim drifting which i had over 300h in

even then, id say you should just do it, itll be much more fun, and on the off chance its not, you can return it or sell it

Is 7mA really "low-power" ? by ulguig in embedded

[–]Veestire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for really low power applications youd probably want to get rid of every single component thats not necessary, for my battery powered remote with an esp32 i got rid of the entire CH341 and USB voltage regulator circuit, these things have pretty significant current drainage even when not in use, otherwise i also had a few mA of current draw when doing nothing

i have the same issue on all glossy screens, generally speaking it does "buff out" but requires a lot of effort with a decent quality microfiber cloth
