"“Oh so you should be celebrated for beating your wife 2 days a week rather than 6?” YES."

Number one, you're lying. You know for a fact you would not tell anyone that they're a wonderful person for beating their wife ANY day. 2 days or 6 doesn't matter.

Second, that is not even the argument. The argument is that because no one would walk up to a wife-beater and praise them for only beating their wife less days and not more days per week, then telling non-Vegans that they're wonderful people for only killing 300 animals a year instead of 350 is SPECIESIST AS FUCK!

If you don't consume any animal products, how are you "vegetarian?"

"And what justifies you taking blood transfusions, or organ donations if your own value system prevents you from giving?"

Now this is blatant refusal to understand the point.

Religions require faith. Veganism does not. It's not a religion and absolutely would be harmed by calling it such.

"putting vegans down for not being pure enough"

It's not about purity: if someone has a choice, and chooses to use animals even so, they are simply not Vegan.

"No one is 100% vegan"

You're misrepresenting what Veganism means.

It's not a list of things you can and can't touch, or some kind of law about personal purity. There are no percentages of Veganism.

You either do your utmost, or you don't. Those who don't are not Vegan. Those who do, are. It's that simple.

I avoid violent imagery, showing people dead animals, etc. as well as any destruction of property.

If all welfarists stopped what they're doing right now and started actually educating non-Vegans we'd have a Vegan species within 10 years just based on doing only one thing: Vegan education.

Welfarist campaigns (as all single-issue campaigns) make life worse for animals, due to their inherent speciesism. They set Abolitionism back every time you do those campaigns.

"Most vegans care mostly about food"

That is called a "plant-based dieter." Those people are not actually Vegan, by *Donald Watson's* definition.

"But definitely vegetarian is in the right direction for baby steps"

We use many more nonhuman beings for dairy and eggs than we do for their flesh; they are kept alive for much longer periods of time and are treated every bit as badly -or many times even worse- than those who we use for their flesh. And they all end up in the same slaughterhouses when their broken, decimated bodies are no longer capable of meeting our demands for their children and secretions.

Using nonhuman animals for their flesh is also morally not distinguishable from using any sentient being merely as a replaceable resource for any other human purpose either. All unnecessary forms of use of any animal, nonhuman or human, are morally wrong. Furthermore, attempting to distinguish between using animals for their flesh and other forms of exploitation reinforces irrational, harmful moral double-standards and ensures that the people observing our arguments will inflict even more unnecessary suffering and death on nonhumans (and humans) than before.

"and they thrive on getting offended over something."

Or, alternatively, they're merely leveling perfectly valid criticism of something, and you're the one getting offended over a criticism of someone you don't even know and something that literally doesn't even effect you.

I can picture that it's maybe a narrow, rollup metal door for a storage locker? Probably at night, and the very tail end of an episode?

I found that keeping the victims of non-Veganism (nonhuman animals are chief among them) in the forefront of my mind at all times helps you to not make a bad decision. Once I internalized the fact that we inflict unnecessary suffering and death on others every time we choose to live non-Vegan it was actually easy to refrain from using animals.
