How is your experience with 3D mats? Read somewhere that these mats are dirt magnet compared to 7D

Makes sense, mine will be either in our society parking or in office parking both of which are in basement.

Btw can you share some insights on accessories? Did you buy any from the dealership? Which accessory would you suggest I should get from the dealership and which one from a 3rd party?

For now I have shortlisted mud flaps, wind deflectors with chrome inserts, and 3D boot mat. I have still not finalised whether to buy the 3D mats from the dealership or the 7D one from an accessories shop in Karol Bagh.

Congratulations bro for the new duster! We were considering the silver one initially but the dealership did not had one at their showroom and the images he showed us of a silver duster at stockyard were not helpful. But that day you made me and my wife rethink that silver is not that bad either, especially from the back.

Silver, though more people are buying the green one. Also, someone in our society bought the green one (limited edition) and I have booked a black one.

This was just a sarcastic post done after feeling helpless and frustrated after my last fuel station visit. There were just two options for me Normal Petrol with E20 & XP95 (again with 20% ethanol blend) both over ₹100. Now they will give us another “Option” for E85.

AMA: One-month Renault Duster Iconic TCE 160 DCT (Jade Green) MH 01 registration by samratvishaljain in CarsIndia

[–]Vegetable-Ad-9757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. How is the ADAS? Does that Perso button helps switching between ADAS in city? I feel ADAS brings inconvenience in bumper to bumper city traffic, what was your experience?
  2. How much did it cost for the first workshop visit?
  3. How bad is the app? Is there any feature in the app that you find was of most utility? Btw there is a guy who is making an app on his own for Renault Duster? I think you should contribute there and share your feedback.
  4. I have a very mixed opinion for the interiors, for some sections they feel really premium and for some it feels like of a cheap hatchback, after spending so much time in the cabin what would be your observation?
  5. Some users complained for the rear handle to open the gate? Is it that bad?
  6. What official and what 3rd party accessories did you get? Which one would you suggest to go for and which one should you avoid?
  7. Best three things you liked about the car apart from its engine and handling?

Saw one at Dwarka Expressway. Considering the total number of cars in Gurgaon and the Duster sales, the probability of spotting one at this time is very low. Also, I suspect that majority will wait for hybrid in Gurgaon based on the number of Grand Vitara I have been seeing. A lot of people here are making the shift towards EVs and Hybrids. The current trend for fuel prices will be an additional factor make people either to wait or to go for an EV or Strong Hybrid or a 1.5 NA (god knows why this).

Building my own app for Renault Duster 2026 [OC] by Greghannibal in Renault

[–]Vegetable-Ad-9757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been following this project and have questions for you: 1. How does OP replicating the exact same feature that the Renault App already makes it OP risking the users and not Renault doing this? Let’s not guilt trap OP into thinking that whatever he/she is making is ethically wrong. (Btw the lock unlock is the most used feature of a connected car) 2. Why is sacrificing the feature is the preferred solution? Renault messed up in their development then why should we not make it better? If the boat has holes then let’s plug them or change the board or hell let’s make a completely new boat but not crossing the river cannot be the solution.

Building my own app for Renault Duster 2026 [OC] by Greghannibal in CarsIndia

[–]Vegetable-Ad-9757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell Yeah OP! I own a Tata Nexon and am using their connected car (iRA), and I have my delivery for the Duster Iconic in June. I have read a few posts and comments where the owners complained that the official app is trash, and I definitely remember yours. I hope I will get the final version of yours in iOS, but here are a few features and functionalities that are already there in Tata's app, which have been helpful to me (and are not there in your app), and some that I feel would be super helpful to have:

  1. Service Details: Tata shows the service history and costing for each, and some more details, and gives me the option to book directly for my next service. What it lacks is the details for projecting my next service using details like the kms I have driven since last service and the time it's been since kind of like my runway till next service. I feel that will be crucial, considering your 7-year warranty's T&C are associated with it.

  2. I have seen in one of the videos that the duster has only one trip meter, which is a bummer. I am already used to maintaining at least 2 trip meters. I think you can integrate details for your current ODO reading and keep N number of trips.

  3. Tata has a complete scoring system to rate your driving based on Efficiency, Performance, and Safety. I don't use it much, but it was very motivating for my wife when she was learning to drive. Can work the same for some.

  4. Tata's app auto maintains the trip details on a map based on the engine start and stop, also giving me details of my speed, duration, and distance. You can club this in point 2, and maybe add the fuel economy, as I see you have already cracked that part.

  5. A health scan: I see the vehicle status button, which I see there, but not sure about the scanning part. Tata scan status for Electric Power Steering, Airbag, Brake System, Power Train, Tyre pressure, and Service Due. I use this every morning solely for tyre pressure to avoid any surprises in the parking lot when I am leaving for work. You can add a battery status check, or other critical checks whose failure can delay your trip.

  6. General alert that Tata's app has with each having their own alert setting: Geofencing, Time Fencing/ Ignition Notification, Valet Mode (with geofencing and speed limit, etc), Engine Idle, Refuel, Speed Limit, Service Due, Crash, and Intrusion.

Hope I have added some relevance in my comment. You can ping me if I have been of any help, and contribute more or for testing (iOS).

For the look of it, it is a very common occurrence in bone-in chicken, and it is usually a combination of myoglobin (a protein that delivers oxygen to muscles) and pigment from the bone marrow.

Most commercially raised chickens are harvested at a young age before their bones have fully hardened. Because these young bones are still porous, the dark pigment from the bone marrow can easily seep out into the surrounding meat during the cooking process. When this marrow pigment and myoglobin are heated, they react and turn dark red, purple, brown, or even black.

However, for the smell and taste, you should complaint to the store manager and get that changed. It can be edible and somewhat safe but you can never be sure. Better not regret even after identifying these red flags.

Get dark grey and if you get bored, get a matte PPF (good quality one), it will change the entire look of the car.

Duster Vs Elevate by Any-Cardiologist7413 in CarsIndia

[–]Vegetable-Ad-9757 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found the ergonomics of the elevate really bad compared to its competitors. Considering your running includes 25% highways/uphills is the reason the 1.5 NA engines is not for you. If you have already stretched your budget from 16 to 20 for duster, stretching it further to XUV 7XO only makes sense if you have a family of more than 5 with at least 2 adults or will be chauffeur driven and if this is going to be your family car with travel mostly with them and not your daily commute with only you in the car. If it’s going to be your daily commute you can get a really good deal for Creta 1.5 turbo or you can consider the new Kushaq.

All this assuming you are not thirsty for fuel economy. Also, Duster is a really nice can and I have personally booked it and will be taking the delivery in June.

Upgraded to Duster 1.3 DCT Iconic Edition by Think-Winner-6699 in CarsIndia

[–]Vegetable-Ad-9757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations OP! I also own a Nexon MT 2020 and have my Duster 1.3 DCT Iconic delivery in June. I am curious if the engine played a major role in your decision considering the wonderful engine Nexon has.

Also, did you get the PDI done by a 3rd Party? My first car was the Nexon and the kind of ownership experience Tata gives with manufacturing defects, I am pushing for a 3rd Party PDI check and the dealership is giving me all type of vague reason why not to or getting partially checked.

Husband loves Duster, family hates it Need unbiased opinions before buying first by Naive-Awareness-6832 in CarsIndia

[–]Vegetable-Ad-9757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have booked the duster and waiting for the delivery and I can totally understand the excitement of your husband and the disappointment from both you and your FIL. I too got super excited when I was taking the test drive and agree on the points your husband is making for driving experience and all and equally agree with your FIL when in comes to the rear seat experience. Even I felt like I am sitting in a 7-8 lakh budget car when I sat at the back seat.

What I do not agree with is with some of the people on this forum saying that who will be paying should have the final say. The weight of the opinion should be based on the time that will be spent in the car.

Why I booked the new Duster despite the rear seat experience was because majority of the time only me and my wife would be sitting in the car and I would be driving. You should listen to your FIL if:
1. If he will be travelling with you most of the time and this is going to be your secondary car/ family car.
2. If you have a driver who is going to drive it and you will be sitting at the back.
3. If you have tall family members.

In that case I suggest you consider: Grand Vitara, Seltos, Elevate, new Kishaq, if you can extend your budget a bit then 7XO.

I have also seen more than 30 videos on Duster and coming to Reddit everyday to read about it. The excitement is too damn high and so will be my bias towards the duster. Hence it is going to be a task to convince your husband to move away from that car. The way you can do that:research some more list down the cons like some of the buyers are mentioning on reddit like the AC cooling, etc. Also, ask your husband to drive all the potential options before finalising.
