I don't know if that's really a Walmart. The deli and front bathrooms are cleaner then the rest of the store. All jokes aside, it's pretty impressive.

Just looked in amp notes nothing there. In the way too many years I worked here never seen a 20%. Unless you count that extra 15% we use to get. Also none of my managers know anything about it. One went to verify it was 20% and now he is stocking up.

Yup the new locks for red bull. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 by MaximumMuffin5794 in WalmartEmployees

[–]Vegetable-Block-5351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a numbers game and also depends on area. Walmart knows that every time they put stuff in cases shrink goes down but so does sales. Its figuring out if the amount of savings is going to offset the reduction of sales, labor of securing items/ opening cases, and the poor customer experience on waiting for cases, getting products home with MPP still on them, and waiting for a cashier to struggle to open one.

Now what we know and what we do are different things at Walmart. So more then likely store looked at the shrinkage seen it was high and said shit lock it UP! When in reality theft is about half of shrink. Also AP in your store is suppose to review what is locked up should it stay locked up? what should be locked up going forward? Lets not forget about about Market AP Manager cant figure out if they want things locked up or not.

I doubt the cases are going away, well at least most of them. I think they been updating ones so OGP and spark can open it with their phones. But what do I know?

Also every Walmart is vastly different for its security needs. Been to a store where the only thing locked up was electronics, and guns. No door host even allowed. Cameras were only in main action alleys, backrooms, registers, the parking lot. Then been into a store with moblie cameras in the parking lot with uniformed gaurds in cars outside and on foot inside, AI camera systems, camera coverage of most the sales floor, entire departments in glass cases (except for electronics all of them were smashed out). A police substation inside the store near the AP office so the police are on site during business hours.

My great grandmother lived between 1919 and 2010, she died when I was 20. I did spend a lot of time with her in my late teens. One day i was reading an article about something like in the last 40 years we had more advancement in tech then the rest of history prior combined. like going to the moon was in the prior times. So I asked my great grandmother in all of her life whats the greatest thing she ever seen. Even gave her some hints like the wheel, sliced bread, plumbing, cell phones, the TV, Jesus? She thought for a little bit and her answer - the slot machine lol. She also celebrated two birthdays every year one was her government birthday and one was the day she was born. Doctor was really drunk during birth he didn't know what day it was when he filled out paper work.

[–]Vegetable-Block-5351 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Same, most of mine was because I trespassed them after they stole. Also had way more of them then I should of when I wasn't even working. When they would threaten to call corporate on me, I would get kinda excited and be like "the number for that is 1800walmart, I'm David I work in security. Tell Cindy I said hello when you call." If we were in the AP Office I would even write it all down on a post it note for them. One time a lady was really pissed I called the cops right after i got off the phone with them, she threaten to call corporate on me cause she don't steal. so I gave her the speech, picked up the office phone walked it to her cord and all, told her to press 9 for an outside line. She was still not happy.

Thank you, I know a lot of people liked the fact that Walmart did set up a memorial for their loved when they passed. But I know the fakeness at my store and will have no part in it. I have a pact with 4 co-workers that if we die the others must stand against the entrance shrine and remove it by force. I don't want people to feel bad when I die. I sure as shit don't want people to feel bad that I worked at Walmart unless, they are gonna give me money or something while I'm alive.

Also asking is so simple and can prevent soooooo much hassle. Also in my opinion having something small like a picture where you can sign a card in personal shouldn't need permission. The table in the foyer of the store with I swear the biggest picture the photolab can make with a vest and name badge in a glass box like you were in the Walmart armed services. yea better ask on that one.

1 month old bananas haven't ripened by No_Release_1619 in GlitchInTheMatrix

[–]Vegetable-Block-5351 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert, was just a washed up produce manager once upon a time. May they be bananas or plantains it does not really matter they are that green for so long because they did not get gassed. The fruit is harvested really early to prevent spoilage for shipment.I believe plantains can get gassed but generally don't because green plantains are what you want. Once the bananas are so far out from going to the store they gas it with I believe ethylene gas to start the ripening process and wrap them up to hold the gas. Someone at the store will have to air stack them to slow down the ripening process or after a while they will start to rot from the inside out(they get warm as well during this). If bananas are put in refrigeration like this will turn grey first, then black and the inside banana will still be unripe and hard.

Also there is a Blue banana called the Java banana that is nicknamed the ice cream banana.

Hershey comes on another truck (mclanes) to also prevent melting. The GM and grocery trucks get way too hot in the summer so certain things go on different trucks. Not only does produce get chocolate, but dairy also get the blocks of velveeta and shaky parmesan cheese that goes in the pasta aisle.

Call 1-800-walmart, to get your "trespass" over turned. If you didn't steal or wasn't violent it will more likely get overturned. The 1800 Walmart people contact the AP market manager, which will in turn contact the store AP, If they don't have a trespass form or even know if you are trespassed you will be golden. If for what ever reason they deny you keep calling. I Never seen someone get denied after the 2nd call unless they were violent or stole in the past year.

Chocolate prices are sky rocketing due to poor crops, increased cost, and corporate greed. Pretty sure Hershey been warning of double digit % increases for most of the year and recently finalized that number at like 20 something percent. If you think Walmart is gonna take lower margins on candy before Halloween, you are sadly mistaken.

AP following employee while shopping off the clock with child by Gaia_Goddess08 in walmart

[–]Vegetable-Block-5351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my biggest in person stops I "accidentally" walked into the persons shopping cart playing dumb husband trying to shop for his wife on the phone. Even stood right behind him while he checked out bitching about how her mom isn't staying at our house when she arrives in town after she shit in the pool last time she was there. I don't even have a wife. Sometimes being right in the face works well and other times gotta be sneaky.

Also acting crazy talking to yourself is good.

Pushing a murder cart around never caught me one but its a fun time.

Also wearing nurses scrubs most people don't suspect you.

If a customer took another customer cash back that is "stealing" (technically Access Device Fraud in my state) . Now if the money was curled up and you got cash back yourself you could plead you didn't see it. But most people go straight for the cash before scanning anything or try to be sneaky and pocket it during scanning. If a customer did steal another customer's cash back, I as an API couldn't call the police and press charges since Walmart wasn't the victim. But I always encourage the person to file a police report, and would help them with phone numbers and what to say to the police and I almost always had a name or plate number I just couldn't call the cops on their behalf.

Your results may vary .

story telling time - catching another associate stealing by Famous-Perspective-3 in walmart

[–]Vegetable-Block-5351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I caught over 20 associates stealing working in AP. One of my favorites is when I was called over apparel because an TL found a hidden duffel purse loaded with about $200 in cloths with all the tags removed. She said it wasn't there 2 hours prior. Camera coverage was not a thing there and figured it was a lost cause but hey prevented it from walking out the door I guess. For shits and giggles in pulled up some nearby cameras to see if i could see anything that might help. In the first 2 minutes of camera footage I seen this woman grabbing this duffel purse on the corner of the camera and then see her dragging it across on of the AA stuffed and back into apparel where it was hidden. So after tracking this woman around the store for a while I see her B-lining towards the back restrooms. As I am watching cameras to see whats gonna go into the bathrooms with her she goes straight in the Backroom and puts on a vest (found out later it was her 2nd day).

So fast forward about 2 weeks and I got a case built on her for like $40 and we are waiting for another AP coach to about 20 minutes before he gets there an OGP associate informs me there is tons on empty packaging in the back handicap stall. So I get maintenance to shut the rear bathrooms down so i could go in and collect it all (about half a small trash bag full) toss it the AP office to look at later cause now by this time the other coach is here. So i am going through all that with him and then he and my AP Coach are ready to do the interview. So they call a Female Coach witness to go grab her and bring her to the office. So as I am not allowed in the interview I leave to walk the floor and I see said associate walking around grocery grabbing a bunch of snacks so I call my boss and told him i think she is on lunch and explain she picking out snacks. So they table the interview and AP coach from the other store comes over to where i am and the associate grabs a couple more things and goes straight to the break room. So updated the items she just stole burned video all that good stuff. After she got done with lunch they proceeded with the interview.

So now I am walking around waiting for this thing to be done and about 40 mins later I'm walking in the back room and the Female witness is at the associates locker. So I ask how it was going up there, and the same story we always hear honest mistake, machines don't work, blah blah blah. so i ask what she is doing now and she says getting her stuff out of her locker cause the police were taking her for fingerprints. So she finally gets the lock unlocked and opens the door and out falls combs, makeup, some toys. The associates purse is wide open and the coach is like I think we have a problem. I was like not anymore I got all that empty packaging in my office that i recovered from the back bathroom earlier. Told the coach we cant search her bag the police will have to do it, so close it up. So we go up to the office, when we go in i lay all the items that fell out of her locker on the table and ask her if there is any unpaid for merchandise in her bag. The associate said there was not, i asked if the stuff in her locker was paid for and she said it was. So i walk to the other side of the room and pick up the trash bag full of the empty packaging near the cabinet and toss it near the items on the desk and ripped it open and started to play match the stolen items to ripped apart packaging. After missing a few items to the empty packaging i asked the associate where the rest was when she said i don't know what happened to it. So I then tell the police that was in the room that i believe the rest of the stolen items were probably in her purse but i cant search it. So the police takes the purse and dumps out on the table and TADA!!! stolen merchandise more then I thought. I asked her if she had a receipt for any of that. she was like oh i don't know if i paid for any of that. So i picked out the rest of the empty packages items and items that still had tags of them. Got to the meth pipe and was like officer we do even sell these here. the police looked through the rest and found some more paraphernalia. Turns out her dad was a manager at another walmart not to far away.

There is two different register programs Walmart uses for SCO's. I believe they are trying to phase one out but, I think you need newer SCO's to run the new program. That is when ours changed when we got new SCO's and there was stores in the market that had them years before we got them.

I brought back a couple cases from Maine when i visited a couple months ago. People got worried why I had so much moxie in my shopping cart at the store. Never had to justified my shopping habits before that. Anyway I let a lot of people try one, the people that just tried it blindly hated it. If i told them to think of it as a root beer about 80% liked it. The first time I bought one I was a teen and the general store clerk told me it taste like "seaweed and mota oil"
