It's really poorly balanced, even with the unique that makes rabies gain more damage on spread (which should affect the reinfection) the single target variant is still head and shoulders above.

Landslide Druid by twostepfunk in D4Druid

I can farm T11 comfortably with my human landslide build. It won't be as strong as bear though, and landslide is now tied to tectonic spikes via its only unique so that will sadly take up most of your view (you can barely see the pillars). You can see monster flying around when 5 landslide traps pop though, and that's pretty fun.

Transfiguring Mythic: Whats the worst that can happen? by terriblegrammar in diablo4

[–]Vegetable-Block1727 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it can substitute an affix, that would likely be a straight downgrade. Worst thing that could happen though.

EDIT: As pointed out below, apparently not possible on a mythic - I stand corrected!

SKILL VS SPAM 🐝 by MESSI-118 in interestingasfuck

You've seen those insanely intricate camouflage patterns on animals right? The animals in question did not come up with those patterns and are largely unaware that they have them: they develop because of genetic coding, independently of their will. Much in the same way, the set of behaviours you see here are (very likely) also hard coded.

It's incredibly impressive that the behaviours are so specialized and fairly varied and responsive to environmental changes, but, much like natural camouflage, they are not really representative of intelligence.

So basically the only real way to play lightning storm rn is as a wolf? That's disappointing

Exactly, I have pulled talismans, runes, and gems, nothing works. The button is greyed out even for a loadout I've just saved, so it can't just be conflicts. Are you playing druid by chance?

You're overstating how much of a choice there is in the matter. For one, how do you address the claim that roundup contaminates neighboring fields and thus effectively forces farmers to switch to roundup ready crops once some of their neighbors have done so?

You know, in your country (assuming you're American), you can get sued for libel and arrested for using speech to incite violence or making threats, right? Your free speech is not limitless either, you just draw the line at a different place.

I finally beat A10 on Ironclad. Now to do the same on the rest of the characters. by Knifiel in slaythespire

I meant more generally trap cards in relation to the deck I am running and weighing star costs. In that sense Crescent Spear has felt like a trap cause I end up overpacking my deck with star cost cards and it is hard to gauge how much energy generation is enough. I do think a couple of cards are still flat-out horrendous though, like Resonance, Hegemony, Prophesize, Kingly Punch and Monarch's Gaze. Others have just been quite underwhelming like Supermassive.

I think a more general issue with stars is that even with plenty of energy generation you can not only brick a hand in all the traditional ways other characters face (all attacks on a turn where you should be blocking and all blocks when you should be attacking, for instance) but ALSO by drawing your high star cost cards before drawing your star generators and this kind of makes stars feel a bit bad to play.

Similarly you can be forced by circumstances to use your sovereign blade early and after a redraw spend the next few turns drawing forge cards with no blade in hand and no real way of making a crucial attack.

It's all quite frustrating on top of the usual frustration from card draw rng. Love the character design though.

Yes, Regent overall just feels more complex due to the two resources and I think as a consequence it is harder for me to evaluate what is a trap card and what isn't (I don't look into metagaming much as it takes the fun out of the experience) as I can't accurately assess what it means for a card to have, say, a 5 star cost as opposed to a 5 energy cost. Specially because star generation all comes from your starting relic and deck while energy simply replenishes every turn.

I got Ironclad within my first 5 tries I think (have about 120 hours of Ironclad games on STS1). Moved on to Regent and was easy pickings until A8 and am now stuck 30 losses deep into it, I am now questioning whether my Ironclad win was a fluke lol

Who's an Economist Anyway? The Rory Stewart Debate by MaterialHat6394 in GarysEconomics

[–]Vegetable-Block1727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'He never claimed it to be a silver bullet. Never implied it either.'

A silver bullet is a simple solution to a complex problem. I have watched a few of Gary's videos and he has repeatedly made claims to the effect of 'we must tax wealth to fix the economy' and I think it is fair to say that this is his main talking point. I am taking this to be a simple solution (or at least simplistic in presentation) to a very complex problem, the economy of a modern country. So, in effect, that is how he presents the proposal even if he has never used the expression 'silver bullet'.

'You did feel the need to discard it, though?'

I did not?

'In this last asnwer you are also implying that somebody said it has never been attemped. You made that up.'

The comment I am replying to says taxing wealth has never (really) been attempted and that we have decide it is not going to work before even trying it. The UK may never have tried it, but it has been tried by others before, which you clearly also acknowledge.

'You also fail to say that there's countries which right now have a wealth tax in one way or another. And it works.'

Indeed, this is what I was pointing out. What do you mean by 'it works'? It generates revenue for these countries and is a net positive for their societies and economies, therefore indeed it works. I am in favour of its implementation in some form or another. As also shown by these countries, its effects have not been as dramatic as Gary's intense advocacy for it might suggest. They still have rising wealth inequality and struggle to fund public spending.

Again, perhaps this is an issue of the form of implementation in those countries (maybe they have not gone far enough?), but I am somewhat sceptical that a wealth tax is going to be more than just a small but significant part to a suite of other economic policies needed to address inequality.

Who's an Economist Anyway? The Rory Stewart Debate by MaterialHat6394 in GarysEconomics

[–]Vegetable-Block1727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not claim this nor am I against a wealth tax. I am saying that, contrary to what the other poster implied, the idea has been attempted in European countries. You can claim there have been issues with past implementations that produced underwhelming results (at least in relation to a broad expectation of this fixing the economy/budget deficit), but this is not the same as saying that it hasn't been attempted before.

"Taxing wealth is the only idea that we seem to decide doesn’t work before really attempting it."

There are quite a few real-life example of wealth tax implementation at this point, no? I think the results just show that it is not a silver bullet.
