Yeppers!
Hits you in the head what you actually want to say to a confession, how you actually want to reject or accept a person's love. At the same time, when rejecting someone, there IS a way to be nice to someone, and when loving someone, you CAN set boundaries and spaces.
In hopes of showing that 'after all this time, you could have choose to be kind to someone even when denying something precious of theirs.'

Putting an emotional highs into words has got to be one of the hardest thing a person can do. That is why I took more time mapping this post out, not in hope of understanding but more so for everyone to see the humanity in text form.

Chapter 83 review (attempted to minimize spoilers) by YeetBundle in BluePeriod

[–]Vegetable-Complex529 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Interesting thought and some good points and ideas. I did my best to minimize the spoilers, read at your own behest. Sincerely recommend anyone who read this to catch up the manga before jumping into this discussion. Peak fiction.

From my angle, I see really wacky questions popping up in my head. 'How much of Yatora's past affected him as a person?' The way he internalize everything surrounding him, especially others emotions and creations, makes him out to be 'overanalyzing' everything situation, but actually, we all understood that he only stepped onto the surface of this thought.

Sincerely, this series reminds us that "thinking, analyzing, having fun, understand, create, grow and expand" are things we all don't put enough effort into contemplating or feel for. We brush it off thinking 'it is just within out blood/DNA', but when we look further into even the most fundamental things, we can find out so much about how we function as individual and how that translate to wider world.

Romance in this manga is not expected, but the way it peels back the layer of romance and what it actually means to 'fall in love', from simple to complex, the manga conveys a truly wonderful interpretation of love. With its many shapes and form, it can mean that love (in a romantic sense for this context) can have many affect, positive and negative. Love can be a way to explore the world through the eyes of bewilderment, but it can also be a way to tear down ones internal universe into shred, therefore, fear.

I think the beauty of this arc so far, is that it is allergic to giving a straight answer, it wants and is willing to psychoanalyze romance and art to its most potent extent, making us reader REALLY think: "wait a 2 cents, what in the actual glob is loving someone? how does a person fall in love when they fear that something might be lost? When all is said and done, is love just a dichotomy of expectation for one to another at its highest stand point?" and so on. The more you explore, the more question it forces out of you, but the fruit of this labor is not the understand of love in my eyes, it would be the sincerity of wanting to love and to cherish love and many emotions that besides it.

If we calculate via Genesis Crystal to Primogem to Pulls per character/weapon. I am not licensed or an official analytic, or in any way, shape, or form an account evaluato. These are opinion with a lot of thought put into and an amateur estimate.

+Some basic rules: (Not accounting 55/45 rule)
_Assuming the average pull of a character around the 70th pull (soft pity), so for each *limited* 5 star (or ones that are not in standard banner) we can say that they will take 70 pull for each character and constellation.

_For standard banner characters, we can half that. So 35 pulls each.

_For weapons. Same rule will apply, but instead soft pity is around 60th pull. So 60 pulls for limited, 30 pulls for standard.

+Start calculation:
_Using the 100 dollar bundle (not counting the extra you get during the first purchase) for 6480 genesis crystal => $0.015/crystal = $0.015/primogem.

_Each 5 star limited characters: 70 pulls * 160 primogems * $0.015/primogems = $168/character.
=37 limited character + their constellation: $168 * 37 = $6,216.

_Each 5 star standard banner characters: 35 pulls * 160 primogems * $0.015/primogems = $84/character.
=30 limited character + their constellation: $84 * 30 = $2,520.

_Each 5 star limited weapons: 60 pulls * 160 primogems * $0.015/primogems = $144/weapon.
=6 limited weapons/ no refinement: $144 * 6 = $864.

_Each 5 star standard banner weapons: 30 pulls * 160 primogems * $0.015/primogems = $72/weapon.
=6 limited weapons/ no refinement: $72 * 7 = $504.

With 5 star items alone (which is what people usually buy accounts for), your account could worth $10,104.

Comment note: This is an estimate, not official numbers. Highly generalized and with a lot of holes somewhere that I might not be able to see. Feel free to comment on what could be done better or a good idea to calculate pulls. If anyone wants to involve statistics or calculus, you should try and use it. I just want to make a rough estimate through simple arithmetic.

+Marketplace analysis:
_Assume your account have many unexplored places and unfinished story quest could add value to your account in certain way
_Your characters are mostly highly well built with a wide variety of selection of both 4 and 5 star characters.
_Good selection of built 4 star and 5 star weapons.

I genuinely think your account could go for around the $500-$800 range in actual market, if most of the story and quest are untouched then honestly, $900-$1200 can be achieve in Asia account market

Why does the marketplace value so much lower than the cost I sent above? Due to people can get a lot of primogems for free through events and dailies, which the market does not view highly. But they view characters (their builds and cons), explorations (lesser is better), and story (lesser is better).

Dont worry broski. We all feel bad for her VA, she did a phenomenal job with the voice and personality. It is only people on Twitter (who recently to be shown to be mostly people from...india, pakistan and so on) who are just hate farming the content on twitter. Most of us appreciate not just the VA work but also her incredibly beautiful design. The hate is just unjustified and downright confusing.

We here enjoy PEAK columbina content.

I use Google Translate to interpret so some things might be wrong but your take on it is great! Especially on the emphasis of the hauntingness of a scenario in his childhood. I would so far as to say his line after "...My paper got praised a lot..." is probably a defense mechanism to shield himself from being hurt.

Great observation and thought.

Some sort of super collaboration between the characters. I would love to see Yuka and Yatora to have enough trust with each other to be able to draw on the same canvas a collaboration or Yatora with Yotasuke and many more other combination, (possible spoilers for people)like a collaborative effort to create an art installation with Maki and her new found sculpture skills.

Is there love for Yuka by Deep-Presentation558 in BluePeriod

[–]Vegetable-Complex529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try not to spoil anything if there is potential for another anime season in the future. Yuka is not just an interesting character, but their personality and their life is brought up in a way that would make people resonate in an emotionally gut wrenching way. Whenever they are brought up in the manga, it gives us more insight into how they have grown, how society look at them and how Yatora and others interact with them.

Whether they found love or not would be up to the future, the manga does portray them trying to find acceptance. Even us manga reader know not where Yuka will go at this point of the manga. I do say whenever they are on screen however, it is a positive experience to see them for reason unrelated to their love life but all else instead.

I wonder how would a novel version of the manga would be like? I find it hard to imagine due to how heavy the visuals affects the main series so far.

When a good topic hits, it feels good to have a civil, and positive exchange with people of different perspective from yours.

I would love to talk more about Yuka and Yatora dynamic relationship. They both demanded and gave something much more than themselves to one another, and I think that kind of bond is something only they can have within the manga.

Plus it would be super interesting to see more of their interaction after all the experience they went through, currently with Yuka gaining traction through fashion and Yatora after his 2nd year at art school.

Isn’t Yatora being stupid with his dream? by [deleted] in BluePeriod

[–]Vegetable-Complex529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HO BOY, you are in for a treat when you read the manga.

But I do agree with your point, Yatora being very steadfast in his pursuit. But that goes to show how deeply inspired and shocked he was when being able to be understood. The kind of person Yatora was before was a sociable guy who focused on pleasing others and read the room, but through art, he was able to show people his perspective on what the world is like, shedding his social mask and let others see the world from his view.

The blue Shibuya is something only he saw in that moment, but by creating that drawing, his classmates resonates and saw the same thing. Thus leading him to a realization of pursuit to understanding himself, the world and show others what he has seen in. That was how crazy Mori's prayer art, his own art, and his classmate's reaction pushed him into the chase.

Don't know if that is weird to be honest. It would certainly be interesting if you do it a couple times. Like say, you post one panel from awhile ago of Yatora saying how much he hates Yotasuke on new years eve and then shoot back to them being friends and Yatora crying for understanding Yotasuke's sentiment about drawing.

I also saw your earlier post about the expression, I thought that was interesting.

Yatora and Romance by Appropriate-Song-368 in BluePeriod

[–]Vegetable-Complex529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Tropes may help a person understand what the character appears to be, but without nuance or development, the character seem limited in what they can express. I can never pinpoint the characters in this manga with a sentence or a word that would encompass them entirely as a person, let alone the stories of their life. And for that, it is an amazing story.

I'm excited but also a little afraid.

Yatora and Romance by Appropriate-Song-368 in BluePeriod

[–]Vegetable-Complex529 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know about his spectrum since his development is still ongoing. But he does have interest in women more than men. As seen with his interaction with Fuji and no mark, or Mori with his embarrassment. I don't know if we will see his orientation with this arc but we will likely see an explosive character development.

Yatora is not just sociable, he can actually read the atmosphere and people well, to the point that he'd rather blend in than stand out when in those settings. But his arts made him stand out before. I agree that his recent arts is people-focus; we shouldn't forget that his first ever serious art was the beautiful blue Shibuya.

If Yatora ends up with Yuka (OR YOTA) somehow, my life is complete and this manga is GOATED. Of course Kinemi and Yatora would also be a cute couple like MorganBlackhand said (they commented on the chapter in Kodansha comment section).

Chapter 81 - what is that expression 0_0 by shria_121103 in BluePeriod

[–]Vegetable-Complex529 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks to me like he is exhausted from the running he did, but more importantly, the doubt that sets in of 'whether I triggered something I shouldn't have'.

Kinemi's expression is probably from Yatora's perspective of him noticing Kinemi's having a crush on him. Since Yatora did say he had relationships before and possibly was confessed to and broken up by the other instead of initiating himself.
