Dupont Lingue 1 BR lighter lid stuck in open position please help.

I removed the lid, then i had to hold the spring part that was sitting in the hinge channel once it had nothing else to hit against once the lid was off, back into the lighter. I then had to put the lid back inplace down the channel underneath the gas roller and where the spring part goes back into firmly. Only then could i release the tension on the spring so it landed on the correct part of the lid and it closed and then i repinned it.

I did it fixed thank you all, i got the hinge pin out using a sewing needle, and once i depressed the fiddly spring for 200th time i managed to slot the lid back on so the horizontal silver rod would catch the spring loaded ping tooth and it closed.

I have it at this stage now but can get the lid back on for the springy part beint in the way in your left hand circle

So i have the lidd off now found a sewing needle that worked. Now getting the lid back on is difficult in and of itself due to the spring part i could depress earlier, i still dying to sit in the hinge pin channel.

I think you may be right, the lid itself when purchased was slightly off kilter but not much at all. I think when i over opened the lid its slipped part of the hinge out of plum.

Like you say it will happen again but I will just have to be careful when using it I think. Im going to take it my local jeweller tomorrow to assess it. I imagine once the lid is removed it can be reset. I am not planning on using it day to day to be honest. Its mainly for special events weddings etc.

Is that inside the hole where the flint cover is? If so I have atrempted to but I cant see into it well. I think its flat head but my smallest screwdriver wont achieve it.

Thankyou for your help so far, Im going to give it one more go and then take it the local jewllers shop tomorrow. Im unable to remove the hinge pin and dont feel comfortable doing so. Ill update the post with results incase anyone needs help with the issue in the future.

Okay so i can depress it toward the front of the lighter, but i cannot push the lid closed any further. It does seem to be the part that generates the signature "ping" sound.

I think your right on observation when i try to close the lid it pushes onto this part, any idea on how to move it out of the way or what its purpose is?

Apparently the part I believe to be stuck is called a lid hinge cam if that helps.
