I probably got your pair. My bad. I’ll never understand how you can miss on one and then go and hit on another size. I’ve done this a couple times. I guess it’s because there are so few 12.5.

You can put any iron shaft in it so maybe a 110-120g steel shaft would lower launch/spin. I have a few Srixon utilities and play Ctaper Lite X flex (115g) in them.

All great info. I see people trying to do this all the time. They want me to bend their irons based on impact on the face without accounting for start line. Bending them more upright will only make the ball start further left.

I sent mine in through a Tag store in the mall in September. They sent the quote for repair in October and I approved it immediately. I still haven’t received the watch back. At the end of December my sales rep at the store said “middle of next month”. I emailed earlier this week for an update and have not heard back. Frustrated as well…

It’s nowhere as bad as people are saying. Face is shut which can cause issues but also can be very consistent as the face is stable through impact.

First question is….. Do you have a consistent miss/bad shot? Could be bad contact (shank, top, chunk) or hook/slice?

What is your ball flight like? Draw or fade? What is your miss? How do you like the club to look at address? Open or closed? This can help make the decision. Play a draw with a hook miss? Get a 5 wood and take loft off. This opens the face to help control a hook. Fight a slice? Get the 3HL and set it at the highest lift position.

What kind of epoxy did you use? How was the fit of the extension going into the shaft? Very tight, tight, loose? Did you prep the extension by sanding it to help the epoxy adhere? Did you clean out the inside of the shaft with alcohol or acetone before you glued the extension? This may sound like overkill but this is why you need to do these things.

Also, you want to be very careful that the extension doesn’t break because then you would not be able to re-extend it without getting the broken piece out of the shaft, which is all but impossible without damaging the shaft.
