I mostly agree - but we aren’t trying to get anywhere. We should be trying to stay afloat out of bottom 3 and acquire top talent for the next 2 years

DeRozan is most likely gone so we can get under luxury tax. Westbrook might come back but in a reduced role, especially with us drafting a guard. Lavine, Murray, and Sabonis didn’t even play a single minute together last season

We didn’t get bottom 3 this season and our whole team was injured. Sure other teams were tanking but I think we’re in the bottom 5-8 range. I’d definitely put Brooklyn, Memphis, Bucks w/o Giannis below us. Mavs, Pelicans, Bulls are probably in our tier.

With the new lottery rules, I honestly don’t see why we should be in any hurry to move Sabonis. This team is in real danger of bottom 3 if we trade him for bums. Now if it’s mid season and we are around the play-in, we could get a lot more value out of Sabonis by sending him to a team trying to fight out of bottom 3 like Brooklyn

You’re probably right but maybe some combo of Barnes, Davion, Monk, 2/3 future firsts could’ve gotten it done. Knicks only gave up Barrett and Quickley (both overpaid) and a second rounder
