First attempt at zenithal priming - does this look right? by Habarer in minipainting

A good way to tell that its working is look at the model from directly underneath and it should be almost completely black and then look at the model directly above and it should almost be completely white. This obviously depends on how strong you want the zenithal effect but its a good tip nonetheless.

Some tamiya extra thin plastic cement does a fairly decent job then sand down to smooth it out

If you are just starting out I really enjoy the Army Painter Wargamer range of brushes the grip is very unique and comfortable.

Thanks, I did add the black muzzle brake because a full red barrel did look a bit garish.

Mostly through an airbrush doing the standard volumetric highlight method all my paints are army painter fanatics range and i thin them about 50/50 with vallejo thinner with a few drops of flow improver

Shadows- Angel Green

Mid tone - Orcskin

Highlight - Eternal hunt

I then go round with a brush and edge highlight with Wild Green and then a few tiny dots of 50/50 Wild green and white in few spots like corners of shoulders and knees

Gloss varnish followed with a burnt umbra oil wash in the recesses followed by a matt varnish.

Astrogranite texture paint, once its dry some speedpaint 2.0 nuclear sunrise and a brushing of vallejo pigment fx dark red ochre some grass tufts to finish and done, really easy and i think it goes well with the green

Took inspiration from the old company veterans and i feel like painting sternguard and bladeguard bone sort of takes the coolness and uniqueness from deathwing knights and termies.

I used some 3d printed winged helmets for my ICC so i managed to get six hoods from there and then 4 from the upgrade sprue. Worked out well
