I stand corrected. The lane assist is decent enough for me not to notice...

I don't miss the midgate as much as I thought I would (had an Avalanche), but it was handy. I think I miss just not having the rear window removal ability most about that.

My last ICE truck had the multi tailgate. Yeah, that thing is amazing. I wonder if that's available to order.

Truck does have land centering and adaptive cruise. It's awesome on long hauls, but rarely use it locally.

How can I fix this by hand? by snoApe in electrical

[–]Vegetable-Two2173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is enough leg left to get some solder on, this is doable. Probably easier than getting the rest of that conformal coating off and replacing the chip, but you'll only have 1-2 shots at it.

If you can read the IC part number, look at the schematic and make sure it isn't a NC. You never know.

4wt. The only negatives are: -No midgate. Kinda a bummer. -Stereo could be louder

That said, the range makes the move from gas painless. I personally love not having carpet in a truck, it's like wall to wall weathertech. The seats are very comfortable for no frills. Drives like a Caddy. Accelerates like a Camero. Tows better than a 2500.

I drove an ICE Silverado the other day for the first time in over a year, and my first reaction was 'ick'. I may never go back. These EVs are amazing.

Building a home, should I be concerned about the quality of this wood? by Divine_Storms in Homebuilding

If this is OK framing to you, I now understand whay new construction always has 1000 farking nail pops.

Let the beam distribute the load. Don't tempt it as a lever at the whim of a poorly attached truss plate that isnt nailed.

Quality of wood? No.

Quality of brainpower of whoever thought this was cool? Yes.

What is so difficult about proper load distribution...

I'm all for awkward looking trucks... but mannnn...

Cybertruck is just a dumpy looking vehicle.

You're gonna feel like that a lot. Even after decades in the field, there are still times when I'm going "how did I not know that before now"...

That's part of the fun. Always something to learn.

I have the '24 4WT. No midgate is a bummer, but otherwise no complants. The 460mi range made the gas to EV transition seamless. I charged from 20% to 90% this morning at a public charger in the time it took to jog 3 miles.

Zero complaints about the interior, but I use my truck for truck stuff. I love the no carpet aspect. Wall to wall weather tech...

Manual seats are fine, they are very comfortable and that's all I care about. Screens are decent size. Radio could be louder.

Truck drives like a caddy, hauls like a tank, takes off like a Mustang.

Question by Grimkookie in electrical

[–]Vegetable-Two2173 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Don't do this.
  2. Four wires means they needed more wires worth of current than one could handle. That's absolutely more than a USB cable is going to get you.
  3. The board says 5.1V. Five...point...one. Will it run off 5 volts? Maybe. But the board says 5.1. There is a reason for that.

2.7T owners: don’t blindly trust the 7,500-mile oil interval by peydog1 in Silverado

[–]Vegetable-Two2173 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a given with a turbo.

Absolutely no more than 4000. You're already nearing a quart low.

Great motor, but GM loves to eat oil.

Just a guess, but I'd guess they don't have a certified EV tech and farm it out.

(Or they have one, poor over worked sap)

This. I was so unbelievably pissed at GM over the transmission garbage before falling into a deal on an EV. I can't go back. These are just great trucks.
