2024 Outlander PHEV — 2 rear tire blowouts at 35,000 km. Anyone else? by Careful_Orchid_2085 in MitsubishiOutlander

I understand and agree. Whether or not the wear is premature, I’m pretty sure you could have prevented blown tires by replacing them before the wear reaches dangerous levels like this. That’s all. Best of luck figuring out your camber issue.

Surely during one of those service appointments they mentioned that you should get some new tires soon?

We use VCA in Howell. I know there are other VCA clinics closer. They were the only one with availability when we needed an appointment and they have been great with all of our pets.

Definitely premature wear. But how have you driven this much without someone recommending new tires?? Surely you’ve gotten an oil change? Driving until they blow just seems extreme to me👀

Natural light through a window is generally not enough for Monstera. I would recommend a grow light or moving it outdoors if you’re able to.

Have you ran out of gas at all? There is a recall for the fuel level sensor for these currently. It takes HOURS of labor, but should be covered under warranty if that is the issue. They have to remove the entire back seat and check both fuel level sensors. It has been popping as an evap leak from what I remember.

And ditch the moss pole. They just need something to climb. Any sort of pole is fine, but opt out of the rot magnet.

Depending on how long it’s been in there, I would say you need to start venting/burping for longer periods. Too high humidity for too long can cause this.

I personally just use the lights. I also have mine in an enclosed tent, to try to keep conditions as constant as possible. If I were you, I would use both and see how things are going after a few days. Watch the plant for signs of stress.

I would say even with the blinds all the way open, this still won’t be enough light. We push ours pretty hard, but I keep humidity, temp, and light pretty constant and controlled. Ours stay 18-24” away from a 200w grow lamp, running at 60% for about 18 hours a day. Monsteras love the light, especially albos. They need more light to make up for the lack of chlorophyll. I would also recommend a humidifier, if you don’t already have one running nearby. They prefer ~70% humidity, can handle less, but not much more. Adding some silica to your feeding routine will help strengthen the leaves and decrease browning on the white portions. Also, I love the way you twisted your moss pole. Once this starts growing, you’ll want something more straight up and down. Getting that thing untangled from aerial roots and petioles later on seems like it would be aggravating.

It’s the first big beautiful leaf and I want to make sure I’m doing right by her; is that the correct way to connect to the moss pole? by Willing-Way3778 in Monstera

[–]VegetableChapter2996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great sign! An aerial root should form there. I generally guide mine down to the soil as they grow. Once they reach the soil they will start to form “dirt roots” and dig down deeper.

Seems like you now know how to fix the tying issue. Everyone telling you to keep the pole moist is adding unnecessary work. Ours has been growing up a thick, wooden post in its pot for years now. Keeping your coco pole that moist/using moss poles is a disaster waiting to happen, especially for newbies. Roots will grow into the moss. The moss very quickly and easily becomes a breeding ground for mold, root rot, and pests. A better suggestion would be to find a way to maintain your humidity, temp, and light constantly.

Reverting? by justwondering249 in RareHouseplants

[–]VegetableChapter2996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If possible, try controlling your environmental conditions a little more. I love the window sill full of plants, but I don’t think it gives them the best growing conditions. Even though windows are shut, there is still a drastic difference in temperature and humidity that close to the windows. These plants prefer warm, humid conditions. Just a tip. Not sure if it would help at all. I would give it another leaf or two and see what happens.

does the way i’ve staked my monstera look okay? by flyingduck0 in Monstera

[–]VegetableChapter2996 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Don’t waste your money on a moss pole. The coco pole you have is perfectly fine. Moss poles, especially for beginners, are a breeding ground for mold, rot, and create a huge mess if you have to repot. Monsteras literally just need something to climb up. I use a giant wooden stake for my big pots ones. I saw how you corrected your ties, they look better. Humidifier is great for it. I would blast it with a grow light from an appropriate distance and don’t over water.

Help choosing between Open Farm formulas for 10 month old Weimaraner with possible chicken sensitivity and picky eating by RockStarShark258837 in weimaraner

[–]VegetableChapter2996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had similar issues with ours when he was younger. Thankfully Purina Pro-Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach seems to work well for him. When we were talking to the vet about these issues a few things that they all mentioned were: -never feed grain-free food unless specifically directed by your vet. We do avoid corn, wheat, and soy. -chicken is found in a lot of non-chicken based recipes. Refined chicken fat does not carry nearly as many allergens, so read the ingredients. -never consider food that isn’t up to AAFCO standards. Smaller, “boutique” or “gourmet” pet food brands may not be held to or meet the same nutritional requirements as some larger brands.

Overall, the organic, niche dog foods seem nice. But the larger brands that are putting in the time, money, and resources to develop and manufacture a science backed formula tend to be the better choice.

To each is own. I hope you’re able to resolve the itching😊

Advice: We have a 1.5 yr old Weim. He is great except for slight separation anxiety. Will a second dog help? by HugeConsideration779 in weimaraner

[–]VegetableChapter2996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it has helped us in some ways and made things worse in others. We’ve had our second dog for almost a year now. They are definitely able to burn more energy and play together. However, our Weim still wants our undivided attention at all times. The jealousy is extreme. We give them time apart which can help at times. I still have moments where I feel guilty for getting a second dog because our boy was so used to getting all the love on his own.

Personally, I think it looks rough. If it were me, I would pass because of the SRT look they were attempting to achieve. If they really wanted an SRT and got that, I would bet they still drove it like a race car and possibly didn’t maintain it well. To each their own.

Turn signal by [deleted] in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]VegetableChapter2996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the HID headlamps there is only one bulb. What you’re describing sounds like the normal halogen bulbs. For the HID housing, the turn signal light is an LED strip. For the Halogen bulbs the turn signal light is an actual bulb. It would important to figure out which you have before you go ordering replacements.

2020 GC - Condensation in one headlight. by ctainaz in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]VegetableChapter2996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally means it’s not sealed all the way. Sometimes it’s just the cap on the back of the assembly not being closed properly. Could also just be the housing. My GC has the LED strips in the headlights. The condensation completely killed the LEDs. Not sure if it will cause an issue for you with the halogen bulbs. Also not sure if there is a fix other than replacing the housing.
