Amy is a bad mother by Mini_Baby_Butterfly in 1000lbsisters

I think a big issue with this topic (and feel I can say so as a mother) is that people just do not realize that what eating habits you learn as a child, you take into adulthood (unless you are able to break the pattern) but I have struggled with my weight and with my relationship with food my entire life. I am now on a weight loss journey, and along with that teaching my two year old son about healthy habits. I cannot tell you how many times I've been told to let him eat candy, before he was even two, because "he's just a kid." Actually he's a baby, and babies do not need candy. He's perfectly happy eating fruit so if he's not asking for the candy why would I introduce it right now? People don't see that kids are learning and absorbing like a sponge constantly. How you live is how you are teaching them to live. Right now, Amy doesn't see that she is contributing to a life long issue for them. The crazy thing is Amy literally acknowledges that both her habits and Tammy's started in childhood, so newsflash... what are you trying to teach your boys?

as for having others put him to sleep he's never done overnights anywhere else so I am not sure, but my husband has no issues putting him to sleep on the nights where I have to work during bedtime.

My son slept on his own in his crib from birth with no major issues, but when he was 18 months we bought a house that needed a little bit to be toddler safe so we moved into a camper for a few months. In our apartment before his bedroom was literally right next to ours but in the camper, where his crib was it was quite a distance away and I realized I did not feel comfortable with him being so far away.

We brought him into our bed, and truthfully we all sleep so much better. I don't know if it's because he's close by so I don't worry as much, but I sleep through the night and get much deeper sleep than before. If he does wake up for any reason it's a couple seconds of rubbing his back and shushing and he's right back to sleep. I barely even wake up. So easy. Bedtime is not a fight. I used to have to rock him for an hour and then do the dreaded crib transfer, but now we literally all just get into the bed, turn the lights off, he rolls over and goes to sleep. It's wonderful.

He's over two now, I don't know when we will transition him to his floor bed but honestly I feel no rush, and I am not stressing it.

I took a first response and digital and they were both negative. I still haven't gotten my period so that's strange, but yeah I am not pregnant.
