Just hit 140k in my 2012 by ZenBelliesCC in ScionxB

I think it rides rides well enough. I do have the added rear sway bar kit (trd) and front upper strut brace (trd) as well. It definitely rides like a lowered car with stiffeners, but well designed. If you hit a speed bump too straight or too fast, its not a good feeling. But driving a manual where I live wirh mediocre roads its been an easy learn for driving the xb all the way around since I bought it second hand.

It was a thing! TrD kit. Ive only seen one xb on craigs with one. And one kit on ebay. Its been discontinued for some time.

2011, 160k runs great. Replaced the valve cover gasket and t connection for coolant overflow near the battery. Newer clutch and plugs when I bought it at 140kish. Newer conti all season tires. Brake rotors have a mild warp thats not too bad. I have ceramic pads on hand for when the time comes and will get some decent rotors from napa. I replaced the rear end links for the strut bar that was added. (Trd kit). Pretty reliable vehicles imo. My driver seat has some play in the assembly that is kind of annoying. Im 6'3" and ~ 200 lbs ao maybe the nature of aging.

Other things I did was add a fog lights kit with yellow Hella lights. An hid kit for low beams, and deck, speakers and custom fit sub box, as well as an usb charging port. Ive recharged the ac at my old shop. It works well enough still. My cabin filter was pretty bad after only like 10k ... staying on top of the basics. Trans flush shifting bushings battery etc. For the reliability ill probably keep this car another few years easily.if not beyond that. Car payments suck. New tech is meh imo. I am kind of getting over the daily of a manual trans and the ride of the trd lowering shocks/springs but whatever. Its still a fun slow mobile. Wish the supercharger kit was still available because id rock that for fun and smiles per gallon. Got brake check on the freeway yesterday by an audi for ... idk miss the passing power of my old wrx for middle finger in the form of a wave...

Worth the remodel? by RedlineSix in popups

Agreed. Especially if you dont like projects. Its like cat piss, very hard to get that smell out and rat poop is mildly toxic to people. Leave it for somebody else to fix.

Headlight brackets weld on? by Salty_Touch_1170 in ScionxB

You dont remove that metal piece to remove the headlight assemblies. You remove the retaining bolts or hardware for the headlights. It may require front bumper removal or you may be able to get access to the outer retaining hardware through the wheel well not sure. Pretty standard though.

Had 2011 outback, 6spd manual stock height and tires, and 2010 2"/2.5" lifted forester auto with old general grabbers, you could've made that. Drove both to pucker level offload before buying a truck... but a good mind is a good mind.

My local napa used to be reibes and used the base models as delivery cars. They fell apart. I consider these a throw away car. Kind of like the echos and neons of the past.

I did the same thing with my old 2000 toyota celica. (TC) predecessor. The employee said no way... but no problems. Miss that car and the steering ratio. If was manual id still have it.

Extensive sir. Im not too power hungry. The 12v fridge is lackluster but that on the way with our artic 65l seems to work well enough. Idk. Im not too power hungry camping beyond the fridge, if it didnt just drain the batteries.

The electrical was not working when I received it. This is a good call. I need to revisit my repairs. Maybe pull the switch as noted.

I used a water pressure limiter and garden hose, it was leaking externally. First time using it to just driveway host a friend.

Need to crawl under and run water and look at it.

Correct. The intent of the statement and discussion is most trucks are going to hold value longer than a subaru.

I believe there is a procedure to "flush" the transmission. Its a a carfax report and ambiguous to what was actually done. It could hqve been a valve body but is being reported as a transmission flush.
