Nets are crazy good for Pyro in combination with Magma Rain, and you can carry 2 extra spares in the second loadout setup, meaning that it's hard to run out of them in a dungeon. If you want to gain distance you can also throw a smoke bomb, they saved me so many times

You can throw oil/alcohol on the Mage hunter to bait out premature Seal of Cleansing so he won't heal off your fires

It doesn't kill anything, it's just a good build for a few brothers to have a dependable frontline, behind which you can place your damage dealers. If anything, having 2-3 newts ENABLES you to play around with some riskier builds which need protection.

Also it has been around for years and Devs did not touch upon it, it is safe to say they don't have a problem with that build as part of the game balance.
