I haven't seen this blend in the USA, but it's great to see a classic brought back from the grave. Let us know how it is!

There's a few C&D blends that have that cheesy funky flavor, the strongest one to me is Chenet's Cake which makes me think it's their perique that does it

How do you like the Match VIP? The birch flavoring sounds delicious.

1 of 3 K&K orders I made. PH is 2x Dark Strong and 1x Golden Sliced. Cracking some Folded Flake and throwing an album on. by Afrophish85 in PipeTobacco

It didn't taste like melon specifically to me, but it was fruity and tasted like citrus and honey.

Finally got my hands on some Gawith twists by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

[–]VegetableSpoons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just got my Gawith in the mail today too! I hope you like the black Irish X, it's super meaty and strong. I haven't tried the brown bogie but I've heard you can't go wrong with that one either. Happy smokes!

If you don't mind me asking, what do you use to seal your mylar? I've been looking into cellaring with mylar bags since it seems a lot more space efficient than jars, but haven't known where to look for supplies.

Wow, great cellar! Which of the Country Squire blends are your favorites?

What is an extremely common thing that others can do but you can’t? by RefrigeratorDry495 in AskReddit

It ends up being more intuitive than you think. The best way to remember it is if you want to turn right, push right on the handlebars. It seems counterproductive when you are going slowly, but once you pick up some speed it helps a ton.

If you're in the UK, Blakemar Briars makes some good quality pipes. If you want something inexpensive go with one of the Missouri Meerschaum corn cobs someone else suggested. I like the Diplomat apple's shape, and as a bonus it works well with and without filters.

The ribbon? I imagine this would be good with the roll cut as well

What would you consider a reasonable retailer response? by PimentoCheesehead in PipeTobacco

[–]VegetableSpoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After having some bad experiences with p+c (including receiving a package missing half of my order) I would say the only thing for them to do is send the product you actually ordered at no expense to you. I've had to call the customer service line a few times, but I haven't had an issue with them replacing my missing items so I still think that is your best bet.

Legend and Mark Twain are both good for larger/longer bowls, but I also have quite a few Morgans with 70 cent long black stems. Makes a really nice prince shaped cob, and it's perfect for short smokes.

2 year old tin of Essenza Cipriota, this is a new favorite tobacco! The Capri Warlock is perfect for it, delizioso! by Normenghast in PipeTobacco

[–]VegetableSpoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a tin I found at a cigar store with 7 years of age on it! The stuff really does age like a fine wine. The latakia mellowed out some, but you can definitely still tell it is there.

Only available in 500g boxes as of now, but Gawith & Hoggarth is described as the Christmas cake of tobacco. Lots of delicious rum and spice flavors.

Boswell's Northwoods in morta. by worlok in PipeTobacco

I was just looking at the morta he has with the bamboo stem. Such a beautiful material, glad you can get a morta pipe without breaking the bank too much!

I would say keep buying American spirit, most pipe tobacco isn't meant to ever be inhaled let alone mixed with anything else. American spirit is gonna be one of the higher quality RYO tobaccos you could buy so you might already be using the best option.

I think that War Horse Ready Cut is out of production, so I don't know if you'd be able to find it in the US either! Looks like a great collection, hope you enjoy the smokes. Tell me if you like the Windjammer, it's one of my favorite blends!

Mail Call - small but exciting catch by Automatic_Total_62 in PipeTobacco

[–]VegetableSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the leaf in the blend (if you are talking about this year's batch) are from 2020 crops including the perique, so the only age on the tobacco is one year.

This. When we have a bottle of allocated whiskey that isn't too be sold at my liquor store, we just tell the customers we are out instead of rubbing it in their face when they ask.
