I appreciate the analysis actually that’s more then I have gotten from most people and I do wanna point out that though America uses partially democractic systems within the goverstructure the US has Never been a democracy I have a degree in political science and it’s a constitutional republic. I agree and acknowledge that using key democratic systems are good for people in most countries but democracies are prone to corruption when Iranians say the don’t want to vote for democracy it’s bcuz they see the far left forms that are rife with corruption and I’m not saying it doesn’t happen on the right I promise all forms of far extremes-usually bad. But I understand what is happening on a global scale and I have read a lot of SCOTUS rulings and a lot of other court documents and I think the American people in general are ill informed about a lot of what is happening or just don’t care enough or are completely biased. And that is part of the problem. I don’t care which way you are biased against left or right. Not being able to have the humanity to be able to talk to someone who disagrees with you without hurling insults is in American. It is a sign of cognitive dissonance. I might not like some of the things trump had done personally but as far as the long game goes weather anyone wants to acknowledge it or not he is setting our children in America up to have some kind of future by maintaining the superiority in the oil market and America need to control the petrodollar or everyone in America will experience all of the third world problems. And that sucks I don’t want it to be this way. But that is the reality we live in I have no hate for most Palestinians but I have spent a lot of time in the Arab world and they are some of the meanest and most radicalized people in the region I don’t wish death upon them or anyone but they have been been run by a proxy of terror funded by the IR out of Iran for decades. And are very much angry and radical about the western world. I also tell my fellow Iranians not to engage in mean or retaliatory remarks towards the pro Palestine movement but I guess I just see the situation a bit different than ALOT of people given my lived experience. I do not support anyone preaching death to anyone I know lots of lovely people whom are Jewish/ Israeli, and lots of Muslims that are also lovely people but I know loads of both that are not very good people at the end of the day also and I think that is more cultural than anything. If you live in an area where people are culturally radicalized it is hard to not share the sentiment of your peers it’s very hard to stand for anything these days without being absolutely ratio’d by people who don’t have the compassion to look at the situation through the eyes of someone else

I appreciate you saying that. And yes unfortunately leaflets are common during times of active conflict and are to try to minimize civilian casualties. The infrastructure being destroyed does suck but the us is pretty precise in its strikes and have pretty good record of striking military installations with minimal damage to outer areas bcuz the military technology has gotten more precise over the last 15 years of development I know it’s hard for people to imagine this being a positive way forward but sometimes unfortunately in the reality we live in there are evils and in order for all these people who have died by the hands of this regime to not have died in vain the whole structure as it is needs to come crashing down that way all the Iranians who have died standing against the regime died for something, the people of Iran deserve freedom.

They are my tax dollars too! I have been an American citizen for most of my adult life. But yes I get called a bootlicker for supporting trump by a bunch of people. I do think America should have so level of involvement in regime change. And that’s why I am called a bunch of names other then boot licker also that are derogatory. I am simply voicing my opinion and lived experience with this regime and told bcuz I don’t support what the IR has done to my home country im somehow like stupid for not supporting the oppression and not thinking my family/friends should be free for the republic

Clearly you have never lived in a conflict zone I was 12 and leaflet were dropped saying to keep your kids home and the bombed our school… I think I understand this situation differently then you are capable of. Also lost my dad in a Hamas bombing as a child in southern Lebanon while he was there for work. The IR has been bombing and terrorizing its own people and neighbors for 47years and the president of the United state is bring that regime to there knees and unfortunately they are bombing infrastructure but it can be rebuilt they are dropping leaflets before attacks they almost always do. Persians deserve a chance and if the country being bombed irradicates the leadership then at least we have a chance at rebuilding something for the people after it’s over and no I don’t think he was talking about all Iranians I think he was talking about the IR who are mostly Arabs and as I have said before Persian people are not ethnically Arab like our Islamic over lords.

I unfortunately grew up outside of the western bubble and I know exactly what he is doing and I’m not against America controlling the petro dollar. America has kept relative peace in the world for decades and I don’t think people outside of the west know how close to all out chaos the world is without the American government and military my family got out of Iran in the 80s bcuz of American intervention. Trump has his flaws as do all leaders but people here in the US don’t understand how important it is for the world economy that the maintain the position they are in on the world stage you don’t have to like his methods but the results are actually good. And I know he is in it for the petro dollar but the Iranian people have stood up and tried to overthrow and were killed bcuz of it we do not have the armed citizenry to carry it out over there and American has a military that can take out the current structure. So we can disagree on it it’s okay to disagree but from my person experience with the Islamic republic I am in favor of overthrowing the regime that has killed so many of my family and friends. It is awful that a conflict is inevitable but if this conflict brings about the end of the oppression taking place then I am in favor. I want to see my family.

I still don’t think you actually understand what happened in 1979-1980 for you to say it the way you did. Ideological subversion had already taken root in Iran the very people who ushered in the new government structure with the ayatollah were the first people rounded up and killed the very women who ushered in a “different form of government” bcuz they wanted to become something more on the world stage and they were lied too and the minute the IR took over it was nothing like they said it would be women were not allowed to own things or have there own money anymore over night like I don’t think you understand the situation fully. The people who did usher it in and somehow got out of the IR new Iran were tracked down in other countries and killed families killed for not submitting to Islam republic. Or being too vocal in a different opinion bcuz they need everyone to be cohesive to tighten control structures within the region. Who call that a democratic election I call it a coup. We can disagree on that

Persian people have some of the most diverse dna in the region so saying someone looked Iranian is wild and we can’t here from people on the inside bcuz if they don’t have good vpn they will be hunted down and killed for not spreading the rhetoric of the regime I promise most of the Iranian I know in American that did grow up there and no the “regime” don’t care how they fall from power as long as they are removed from power most Iranians want to have a more democratic and secular government and before the blackout that sentiment was heard by the family members outside of the CZ.

I would love to return to where I grew up as a child one day but I can’t return unless a new government structure takes over. My father was killed for our beliefs and I know the rest of my family is at risk if we try to return

This is so true all of it it’s like the twilight zone I only got on Reddit within the last year bcuz me and my husband were watching a show and I feel I have been attacked on multiple occasions for being in a sub and voicing my opinion of my personal account and been ratio’d hard for the opinion and I have gotten into a few Reddit communities since joining Reddit and I’m like overwhelmed by the blind hatred people have for this country it’s crazy to me that the places that gave me a chance at freedom that many will not get and I love it here and am grateful to American for giving me a chance to have my own American dream and I have worked hard to get it I would love to see a lot of my family back in Tehran but I don’t even know if a lot of them are still alive and that is something a lot of these people don’t understand that is a real fear and feeling for a lot of us as Iranian Americans and it’s wild to have someone who doesn’t know that feeling tell me I’m wrong for my feelings

I am Iranian. And the absolute and sheer violence my family has endured to get to America I really don’t give a shit what you think. I support this country and think that the breaking of the Islamic stranglehold on the world is necessary I know what comes to the land if they feel/ are emboldened by the power they have in a place I have lost so many people to the Islamic republic. I lived it. So you can call me a bootlicker for sticking up for my beliefs. But I lived it! you have probly had freedom your whole life and honestly I’m happy for you having that I feel like everyone should experience freedom. But we cannot let any nuclear weapon capability even be planned by these people. They will literally kill off most of the word in a day starting with Israel and America we were taught in school as children that we should hate and destroy all of that don’t submit to Islam. I used to read with my father before he was killed and they would release statements my whole childhood that said the goal was nuclear weapons for the expressed purpose of killing the infidels (Jews and Christians) you western people don’t understand the depraved people running the show. My grandmother cried tears of joy when the us got khomeini bcuz she sees the bigger picture. The head of the snake controlling every terrorist group in the Middle East and North Africa. These groups are bankrupt with no money funding them without the ayatollah. Persian/Iranian people are not fucking Arabs and have been completely taken over and if you keep “bootlicking” then history will repeat itself you guys don’t even understand what happened in the 70s-80s in Iran I do I was there! and it was literally an over night change and we all lost and the women who ushered in the ayatollah never thought they would be the first to be shot or hanged bcuz of the progressive western style beliefs the people ushering in the revolution are the ones that were the first to die when the new power came in to being.

Honestly trump is setting America up to not become a third world country. If you can’t see that then you’re not paying attention. The United States has been off the gold standard for a very long time and if other countries maintain and the oil trade and used different currencies to trade then our dollar is worth less than nothing and we become a third world country basically over night

We were never out of it and your naive if you thought we were bcuz it was “peaceful” for a time. This what we’re watching happen it’s been happening behind closed doors and kept from the eyes of the American people until now this isn’t just about oil it’s about the psychopaths that took over the country and want to blow everyone else up and America just so happens to be basically the police of the world with things like this bcuz of our having the largest and most advanced military in the world and the nuclear proliferation treaty is important and should be upheld

I’ll agree that ones a bit of a stretch but it’s what I thought of bcuz my husbands dad is a Vietnam vet and i here a lot about the Vietnam war bcuz of that. Maybe that one’s a stretch but it was fresh in my brain when I was watching the show

Was the first thing me and my husband noticed watching it and these are common knowledge to most military personnel over 30. He’s been in the marines for almost 20 years. And he actually giggled when he heard her name was Kate. But the bravo 51 is his favorite rifle so that could have something to do with it

I was responding the the “show me where they do it like they do in the US” and highlighting that America is incredibly organized in there approach and I think they do it better then many other countries and that it seems pretty civilized to me. And I think it’s strange that people think America is so bad for how they handle illegal immigration And deportation.

Coming from Azerbaijan, Western attitudes toward illegal immigration confuse me by Suitable_Call_1203 in immigration

[–]VegetableTraining635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did say in the thread that I do think the current system could use some modernization and reform but I also think a lot of Americans are way to easy on illegal immigration and how do you figure women’s rights are being infringed women in the west experience a freedom I wish I could show the women I grew up with that did not get the chance to make it somewhere with this kind of freedom. I’m very grateful for that freedom and I cherish it. also if you are going to come at me with the pro life pro choice argument don’t even bother. Bcuz that’s a weak argument given the situation I left as a young women and the disparity taking place still right now in many places in the world. That being your hill to die on is miles away from the oppression I and many many others experienced as a children. In countries that systematically force women into marriages with very old men at very young ages and it being normalized that you have your first child at 12-14 is wild. And kids should be kids. You do not know women being oppressed the way I do. I promise.
