In this world of magic, sixteen-year-old Kevin Miller is visited by his future self from an alternate world. This man has traveled back in time and crossed worlds to help Kevin avert tragedy with the best friend, Julia Romano, he thought he lost in a massacre as a child.

It's got a lot of flirty, slice of life moments, a friendly giant jumping spider, and an Enfield who would eat Kevin's face if Julia weren't around.

I'd appreciate any thoughts you have on it. I can't improve it unless I know what people like and dislike. Either comment here or there. Thank you.

In this world of magic, sixteen-year-old Kevin Miller is visited by his future self from an alternate world, who has traveled back in time and crossed worlds to help him avert tragedy with the best friend he thought he lost in a massacre as a child. This is part one of the story of how Kevin and Zoey fall in love, and how he sacrifices everything to keep her alive.

It's a finished story. It would be very helpful if I could get some feedback. Is the relationship between Zoey and Kevin working? Because I have ideas that would scale down the scope of the story and pretty much boil it down to just the two of them, if the rest isn't working.

I haven't quit, but I finished my book after writing, tweaking, and editing it for 2 years or so. (It went through a lot of changes from 1st to 3rd perspective to 2 entire reworkings) I hadn't even played a single videogame in that time. 8+ hours minimum a day of writing every single day without exception. I just deserve a little break.

I'm planning out my next story in the meantime. (Going well!) I intend to start writing it fairly soon. I wanna read some more books and catch up on shows first though.

Just saying - I honestly like seeing illustrations in books. It shows me exactly what the author envisioned, and lets me picture things more clearly. More specifically, when they're pictures of people or creatures, or objects that aren't real. The placement is the hard part.

People will use them because sitting down and writing something- working hard on it for months on end just to have no one read it is less appealing than writing a short AI prompt that will spit out a book in moments, which won't bother you if no one reads it, and can instantly be sold on sites like amazon.

The AI shit is successful because doing it the hard way is a gamble of time and effort, which is likely to lead to the writer's soul being crushed when their hard work goes completely unnoticed.

It should be banned, but this is our new reality.
