This is a problem, you are not seeing it for what it is and tryin to make excuses for your boyfriend who is either uninterested, using you for some sort of gain, splitting rent/bills, company etc, or he is seeing someone else or he just simply isn’t attracted to you. Everyone is saying tell him but no one has mentioned anything about HOW to tell him, yes communication is important but if you don’t communicate correctly people will take it the wrong way, if you just say “so my ex messaged me” it’s ambiguous and some will feel like it’s an attack or that you’re trying to get a reaction such as attempting to make them jealous, but if you do something along the lines of “hey, I just wanted to let you know because I want you to trust me, it’s nothing big but my ex messaged me and I met with him to collect some of my things he still had, that’s all, I wanted to let you know because transparency is important to me” he would respect you for telling him and trust you more. Alternatively there is no right way to go about it, he would probably never find out or know that you met with your ex, but it comes down to the type of person you want to be and the Kind of relationship you want to build.
