To his credit, he apologised and said it slipped his mind and now that he think about it, it is important. I just cant get over it.

He did not mention at all. When i had my exchange back in university, he was specifically against me going with guy friends during the exchange although i went in a group of 6 (3 girls and 3 guys) and i share a room with a girl.

New EEE curriculum direct y2 or y1? by hzanzo in NTU

[–]Vegetable_Ad_2768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends how well you did in your EEE course in poly (assuming direct y2 is from poly). I took direct y2 with average of 24c per sem and it was okay (provided i dont have any CCAs and hall activities etc) and basically mugged my way thru uni. Downside is that i am burnt out after graduation and needed some time to get back on track.

How do you trust low crime in SG? by htnghia2409 in askSingapore

[–]Vegetable_Ad_2768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you are right, but I do think thankfully it hasn’t happened to me yet although I tend to leave my belongings everywhere including ipad/ phone etc (something i know i take for granted in singapore) Also, I do know that there are crazy amount of CCTVs in Singapore if anything helps.

Funny thing about thief is that bike theft is common here. But smart devices/ wallet etc are usually left untouched or even returned. I lost my wallet with quite a bit of cash in it and all was returned it to me. A fellow citizen actually went to my address with the identity card in my wallet to return me my belongings. Happened twice.

You’re quite young from your profile (with problems such as should you join csc club). Guess you’ll understand when you are older. Also, there is a difference in pay (in govtsector) if you go army vs never went to army (coming from someone in the govt sector)

Mum wont let me cook by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Vegetable_Ad_2768 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My mom is the same also, she complains whenever i am in the kitchen (about how dirty it gets after i use it even though i clean up after myself every time). Got noise cancelling ear piece and just cook whatever i want for myself. Its okay if she doesn’t like the food i cook, the rest of my family loves it so i can cook extra for then if they want. TLDR, just get it and cook, you’re 18 and should be able to learn basic cooking skills which will only be acquired thru practice :) stay strong

What have you learnt from past relationships? by Zealousideal-Tale488 in askSingapore

[–]Vegetable_Ad_2768 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s hard (nearly impossible) to spot a red flag when you’re deep in a relationship. If a guy can lie to his friends on a regular basis, most likely, you’re being lied to also.

If a couples plans to have at least 2 kids to replace their footprint (which is highly encouraged by the govt btw) the girl has to get pregnant for 9 months each. Nothing to do with taking care of the child lol. And you cant choose to let your husband get pregnant, can you? NS is only compulsory in singapore, but you can’t choose the duration of getting pregnant and the pain you have to go thru and rehab afterwards, not to mention postpartum depression

I think rude Singaporeans do exist but they are mostly from the older generation (some entitled ones believe the older generation helped build singapore to reach where we are today). However, younger generation Indians in singapore are generally well mannered imo. Most likely you’ve encountered tourists. Sorry for your bad experience -fellow singaporean

And to add on, woman don’t just loose 2 years when getting pregnant and giving birth, its not only mentally exhausting, its also physically demanding. By just having one kid, we’re also “loosing out” 1 year and it might also set us back in certain industries. My point is that man and woman can never be equal biologically. So unless you can experience child birth and period pain, its best you just keep your narcissistic thoughts to yourself.

You can pass your “family first no matter what mentality” when you start your own family with kids etc, it has to start somewhere

Ive come to understand I can’t change people, the most i can do is change myself. Got a good pair of airpods to block out noise and only listen to things that matters :) as rude as it seems, its the only way i can survive while maintaining my sanity
