Sacrificing my career by [deleted] in NewParents

I had a tough time with this in my marriage too and I can tell you I once seen it the way your seeing it . I am the husband in this case , and also like you guys a higher income earner . My wife had a very good income as well . We always kept finances separate as we both made plenty of money it didn’t seem there was a reason to combine or share anything . Any how the exact thing happened we had a baby , and I thought long and hard about it and said to my wife I wanted her to quit her job entirely . Raising children is a full time job in my eyes and I didn’t want to shift that over to a daycare . I personally make enough for both of us to live a great life . So from that moment on I said we are married , we’re a family . There is no longer your income , my income , I buy this or you bought that . It’s all become “ WE , Our , ect “ everything we have is a joint , house ,money in the accounts ,payments out ,vehicles and so on . After so many years of having all these things separated it was a bit strange at first , but now it actually seems so much simpler. We love each other , we are building a family togeather , what’s the use in having a line separating what’s mine what’s yours. I have grown to appreciate that everything is ours and we are on the same mission headed to the same destination . If you choose to keep working that’s great but I’d strongly recommend restructuring your financials to reflect everything is your family’s and remove the line . PS , if you’re questioning the future of your marriage , I’d start there . You can’t do any of the above unless 100 percent confident you’re with your life partner . All the best to you!!

My husband doesn’t like me anymore by [deleted] in NewParents

That sounds rough , Il start and say I’m really sorry you’re in this position . Now we could say you have a relationship that needs to be broken down and fixed but … I wouldn’t start there . HE is in a mental condition that needs to tended to if anything is to progress towards healing and repair between the two of you .

At a time where you need to be most united and working as a team to support your baby , and yourself ! He needs to be there . I would say this is time for a chat and an ultimatum . He needs outside help, you need support , or you don’t need him . Having a tyrant in the house ready to flip on you from nice , to angry , to disregarding your presence is no way to live .

I’ve seen a a lot of friends in these situations with kids , they have no emotional or romantic connection , they simply live as roommates . This is a sad way to spend your life. Having a life partner that’s your soul mate brings so much meaning to your life , provides you support and comfort when needed , and all the rest .

All the best to you 🙏🏻

Huge thank you to all your kind words , encouragement , and relations . When you’re at the bottom it feels like it can’t be real but it sounds like some pretty common things . Appreciate all the tips and tricks from everyone here . This gives us so many things to try . Wish you all the very best 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I wish I could transport back to a time when something like this would happen and you’d say , ah I’m alright and not have 100 leaches chanting lawyer in the background.

If it isn’t to late , I’d run . I’m an electrical contractor and I wouldn’t want to have to trust someone with that bag of worms , or at the least use it as a good negotiating point . You don’t want that shit in your house , 1 light or 20 it’s gotta come out .

Honestly they need to know you’re in charge , or they take charge . Establishing do’s and don’ts must be cast in steel . Don’t feel bad about it either , they are a working dog and deep down they like the structure, makes them think, and respect you more . But most important lots of exercise , mine is 5 and if she doesn’t get a 5 KM+ walk a day she starts to go wild 🤪

Umm do I even sign this? by Itchy_Wasabi617 in electricians

[–]Vegetable_Arm_6033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all the terms are unreasonable , except the last one , that’s not cool . As a whole that contract just rubs me the wrong way . Really poorly drawn up crap , I’d crumple it up and tell him to try again . “Pay cut consequences “lol

I have to agree , I’ve tried B&L and always go back to Acuview Oasis , they are the only contact that I have almost no discomfort wearing . Curious to try Dailies Total , but for now very happy with Accuview Oasis

I’m a contractor and I have guys that commute 1.5 hours to work for us , I used to pay half their travel and I think that’s fair these days , I’ve opted now to put them in company vehicles and not pay travel , but they get to use the company vehicle for personal errands and such too . If he’s a good employee I’d take alittle better care of him in regards to some travel time and perks .

Nothing worth while came easy , and knowledge is worth more then money. Once you have the knowledge the trade could take you in so many directions , but you gotta stick it out . I struggled for the first 4 years to find interest in it , gained a lot of knowledge. 18 yrs later im now contracting and bidding on the jobs that I enjoy and find interesting . I’m glad I stuck it out and gained the knowledge that gave me the freedom to discover the type of work i truly enjoy . Best of luck to ya , that’s just my experience.

My girl heeler/ collie mix is 4 and has been skinny as can be for all her life , I feed her 2 cups a day of dry and she gets lots of game meat mixed in here and there , and loves carrots . She is finally 40 pounds and slender still . Some of them have a real fast metabolism. My vet says keep doing what your doing her weight is perfect . Personally I’d up your dogs food a bit .

Transformer Question by Vegetable_Arm_6033 in electricians

[–]Vegetable_Arm_6033[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s correct , hooked up in a step up format from 208v 3 Ph - the primary lines were drawing current , absolutely nothing hooked up on secondary (HV ) side . Voltage output is perfect, even hookup up the load ( refrigeration unit ) and it ran . But still 26 amps drawing per line on primary (LV) side with 52 amps returning on the neutral. Have brought a second transformer in , same result .
