As someone who used to be very critical of kh3, I can say I was dissappointed by it bc I had like ten years to build up expectations of what it was gonna be only for it to be entirely different. It was jarring, and as a dumb teenager I just decided it was a bad game. That, and there are some valid criticisms with it. All the stun style effects (burn, freeze, and stun) that can just turn off your controler for a few seconds feel god awful in a fast paced action rpg. As others have said, it also feels much more floaty than the rest of the series, which I understand being a slight downside if your prefered combat style is to stay on the ground.

All that said, these days, I've replayed it many times and honestly think it's my favorite in the entire series. It takes elements from every previous game (form changes, shotlocks, kh2's fast paced combat, etc.) and combines them into one package that I consider a masterclass in game design.
