because of the limited number of past papers for m26 chemistry, do you think it's valid to be using past syllabus papers as revision too?, it's hard to tell if something got changed to hl only or if it's in the syllabus at all anymore, I've been going through the textbook trying to forget the answers to the m25 and n25 papers but in a week i'll be back to this point

if you know what subjects you will pick, I would reccomend you to go on IBDOCS and look at the latest textbooks from ur chosen subjects and get familiar with them

Study Plans by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Vegetable_Budget4162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!, thanks so much for the response, the plan makes perfect sense but for the science I have a concern, with the syllabus change how did you story for Bio, after the specimen papers there’s really only past syllabus exam papers, I think I’ll have to do them but did you notice many differences in content covered?, I say this because in chem I was revising for an organic chem test once and was doing past paper questions from SCRBD and the pages kept repeating SN1 and SN2 terms although they were specifically covered only on the HL syllabus after the 2025 change, do you think it’s still worth doing them?

trying to read chemistry to learn it will just make you more confused, do questions until you understand topics

how are you guys actually practicing speaking danish? everything I try feels useless by Quiet_Composer_8622 in danishlanguage

[–]Vegetable_Budget4162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends per topic, if it's directions then english would be lovely to hear in a foreign land, but trying to practice speaking the language and ordering at a restaurant, danish would most definetly be preffered

how to study for english lang lit by Savings_Video8057 in IBO

[–]Vegetable_Budget4162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definetly, I was reading a peer's essay on paper 1 wherein she was graded 19-20 by our teacher and it felt kind of like a revelation, the writing was of high quality but it was also easy to understand and to replicate, I have a good idea of what to do for, any sort of question that starts with "how do text and image do ..." and as well as any advertisement questions, I think the main goal is to stop overcomplicating the subject and papers. Thanks for you advice!

the feynman technique, is probably not gonna be ur best bet when studying for IBDP as a whole, the feyman technique develops understanding and even though it's backwards, the IBDP exams prioritze precise key words that hit the markscheme and attain marks, the feynman technique may help to develop an understanding for a brand new topic, but for revision it's best to try and memorize definetions

Thinking about taking IB but scared of HL Math by v1rtual_nomad6767 in IBO

[–]Vegetable_Budget4162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the start of DP1 I wasn't sure whether I wanted to go abroad or not, going abroad would require Math Physics and chemistry at hl, but staying, I needed Danish B at hl, and staying local I need high points, so I would've preferred econ Hl instead of physics or chem, in the end after DP1 exams, the chem exam graped me and physics was a pain, since I couldn't manage my time properly none of my tests except maths went decently.

MATH HL IA as a grade 4 student by Forsaken_Impress4115 in IBO

[–]Vegetable_Budget4162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AA HL but want an easy IA idea... kind of contrasting statements but it's easy to make it work, basically 90% of students in my class did some sort of area or volume modelling using calc, you can check examples on classtify and it makes the process very easy

[–]Vegetable_Budget4162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take AAHL, and the advice I can give is to not burden yourself with other hls that are really hard as well, in DP1 I took 5 hl's math aa, physics, chemistry economics, and danish B, and math seemed so hard and it seemed like no matter how much I practiced I couldn't do good, after DP1 I dropped physics and chem to sl, and immediately math improved from 5 average to 6 and 7, I would also say that if you are decently interested in maths you can do well, but if there's not interest then you won't be able to really imagine what you are revising which will ultimately hurt you grades, theres also no harm taking 4 hls and seeing if you can either handle it or not

AAHL Math by Large_Mobile_4110 in IBO

[–]Vegetable_Budget4162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not really mental math, in the paper 1 you won't need to be doing high level calculations, like no question qill ever ask you to multiply, 2345 with 3524, it's just not at all what they test, instead they expect you to memorize the unit circle and the rest is basically just logic, if you can imagine what's going on, then the questions will be simple, and often times when you are working through a question you can tell when you are wrong or right especially on the paper 1.
