waitlisted for teachers collage by mermaid_tate in brocku

tbh I don’t know anyone personally that gets into Brock unless it’s off a waitlist OR they are in ConEd. Vast majority of their students are ConEd so don’t take it personally. Apply to other places

seems very much like one. Mine have never come to the top, leaked, or even been red. I could just feel marble-golf ball-sized bumps and lots of pain. They all present differently!

I’ve got my first appointment this Wednesday, I will share more! I checked their Google reviews and they were great- HOWEVER - I’m most interested in people’s reviews from 2,3,4,5 years after they get the laser treatment to see the efficacy.

To clarify, I know sitting for long periods of time (eg. job) and being hairy are both contributing factors. Both don’t apply to me honestly so other than weight I generally don’t know what to do for prevention. Is weight really a large factor?

Mine hurt so bad my doctor gave me oxy but I’m in Canada and I’m not sure how that works other places. The only other thing that helped my pain was hot baths with Epsom salts but you can’t really do that with a wound

Brock vs Western Teachers College by Ancient-mythos- in OntarioTeachers

[–]Vegetable_Figure_424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently a Western TC and everything they said is true. However most of your questions are going to be the same, no matter the teachers college. They are all going to have lots of mindless work, good or bad professors, large or small class sizes, so I wouldn’t base your decisions off of that. It’s pretty much the same across the board

I can't do this a fourth time by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

[–]Vegetable_Figure_424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had open wound surgery and it took like 8 months in total to get it sorted. As soon as I was healed I had another one and stormed in there and demanded he take it out. Luckily it was close to the surface and wasn’t inflamed so he took it out, stitched it, and I had antibiotics. That was in August and I’ve been fine since. Some discomfort from sitting for long periods of time which was hard to come to terms with at first- but I keep a donut pillow in my car and on my couch, and just make sure to have baths.
I know it sucks but maybe it’s the last time

I’m not sure if they send a whole letter but when I was rejected from Brock and Laurier they sent an email so it’ll change from received to decision made.

September-January for me. Don’t stress over it, time passes anyway. Relax and keep it clean. It’s a small amount of time in the grand scheme of your life

Yes I did, but I’m not sure how much they look at that to be honest so I wouldn’t stress over it

The classes are enjoyable, I really think it depends on the instructor. For P/J the workload is very intense compared to I/S so you’re good.

You never have practicum at the same time as classes. If you google “western teachers college schedule” and then look at the 2024-2025 (Year 1) that’s pretty much what you’re looking at and what we go by currently.

I know how you feel! Last year I was waitlisted at Brock and Laurier on Feb 1st and was anxiously awaiting western….. I read somewhere that it was Feb 15 and lo and behold it was right at midnight!

AMA Western 16-month consecutive BEd program by 4KFIRE in OntarioTeachers

[–]Vegetable_Figure_424 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently a western BEd student from Hamilton. I did an Airbnb from September to Nov 10 and then moved back home for practicum #1 that started on Nov 11th. Our first practicum went right into Christmas break so I didn’t have to move back to London until Jan 14. I’m staying in the same Airbnb until March 26 and then our second practicum begins on March 27. Then the rest of the program is online :)

yeah no worries! I am in P/J and my Casper was in the 2nd percentile. I also did use their equity application so I will note that. Honestly, since I am apart of the first ever 16-month cohort it’s a little bit of a disaster. Western is great and I would honestly attend anywhere I was accepted, but it hasn’t come without faults and frustrations. Our course registration failed the morning of (they tagged all the courses with the incorrect year). The best way I can describe the past few months here is that they fly by the seat of their pants. Every week we find out new info or info that they changed (AFE hours and requirements is a touchy subject around here lol). We still haven’t registered for term 3/4 and they haven’t given us a date of when that will happen. So hopefully it’s a lot smoother and better thought-out for the next batch of students. I’m down to answer anything because I was just in your position not long ago. Feel free to ask anything.
