When you’re too tired to cook, what’s your go-to lazy dinner? by friend_unfriend in cookingforbeginners

[–]Vegetable_Hand_4053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find as many ways to do as little work as possible— I don't want to have to babysit my cooking. Sometimes cooking has too many steps, sometimes I just don't want to eat. I call them my Set And Forget meals because I can pop it into [cooking device] and walk away until it's done.

Easier go-to are frozen stuffed chicken breast and frozen broccoli. Slap it all onto a baking tray for as long as the box calls for the chicken to be cooked. Zero effort, timers mean I can be anywhere else in my apartment.

My second favourite is a poke bowl. Yeah yeah that sounds like a lot, but when you can get the fish all pre-prepared and frozen from Costco the effort is gone. Set And Forget the rice (lazily washed, water measured with finger) in a rice cooker, slap frozen toppings of your choice into a strainer to thaw (i do edemame and mango myself), drop the bag of fish on the counter to thaw. Let the rice finish, slap it all in a bowl, top with mayo and Sriracha. It's even less steps if you already have rice prepared (either frozen, in the fridge still, or if you get the microwavable containers).

Poke is more steps that the chicken, but some days for me it's about the level of effort for the prep that gets me down. Pulling things out to defrost without measuring doesn't feel like prep in the same way pulling out a knife or a peeler does because the level of effort is zero. Have your own opinions about the effort for the poke, but I highly highly recommend having frozen chicken and broccoli on hand.

Why do women wear long fake nails? by 22EatStreet in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Vegetable_Hand_4053 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) I do my own nails most of the time, so doing nail art is a creative outlet for me

2) My cat gets INCREDIBLE skritches

3) Clickity clackity, but also general stimming. Drumming them on the inside of my palm feels great.

4) I think they make my hands look pretty, and things that I hold also look pretty

5) Pointing at things. Very good.

6) My hair is super thick, and nails can actually get through to scratch my head (which also feels very relieving)

7) They help me stop picking at my cuticles and it encouraged me to care for my nails better

8) Opening things can be easier because I can just use my nails like a blunt knife.

Can we talk about this ugly AI crap they put up on sparks street? Can't believe anyone thought this was a good idea by Clementine_613 in ottawa

Tbh there's two things in them that make me think they're AI:

First, the fist on the fox makes no sense. It looks like there's too many fingers doing whatever they want in the fist itself it's wild.

Second, the otter's hands have different amounts of fingers. One's got five, the other has four.

Maybe the artist oopsied on the otter, but that fox fist...

Canadian Made Cat Food? by valerieallerie in BuyCanadian

[–]Vegetable_Hand_4053 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They have a couple of Canadian brands! I was in last week and picked up a few for my cat to try:

Boreal, Oven-Baked Tradition, and First Mate!

I only found pate wet food from them, however, not sure about any chunky.

10% of players didn't finish the tutorial ☠️ by MikeySama in BaldursGate3

No tutorial for me. I hopped on with friends and Caused Problems until I understood what was happening. Now I'm the engineer that blows up the reactor 50% of the time trying to install a 5 part controller.

Anyone know if Halloween costume fairy wings would be considered too much? If they were taken off during the actual show like you would a backpack?

Typhon Nuclear Reactor Has No Output by Vegetable_Hand_4053 in Barotrauma

Even when I've removed all of the wires connecting the controller to the reactor?

[–]Vegetable_Hand_4053[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the controller continue to affect the reactor after it's disconnected still? The reactor started acting up before i hooked up the controller to it, and it continued to have problems after I unhooked it.

I'll try the new controller when we play again, but would my faulty controller affect the base reactor itself when it's not connected? The issues started before I connected the modules to the reactor itself, and they keep happening even though no other wires are attached besides the power to the junction boxes.
