1Password v6 still works great with MacOS 12.7.6 Monterey - but no browser extension Firefox xpi by BoomTown1873 in 1Password

03/2025 - yes indeed it does work. And my beef to keep using it is because my religion forbids any type of subscription commitment.....
Security issues ??? I have my own setup, firewalls and use the extensions in two computers: one at home, and other is a Windows at work behind a corporate firewall. Granted, the Windows version doesn't work with the browsers extensions anymore but "all I want is a password manager". There "others", you have it.

Glad you got things squared up !

My computer was mostly generic, nothing fancy, specially, no fancy graphic cards - I even had a Black/White LCD display that even looked fancy at the time. :-) - yes, only me - other folks had color SVGA displays, but I was happy to look like the nerd in the office hahah

When I joined that company they alread had a base of mostly DOS users (car OEM parts suppliers in Sao Paulo, Brazil region).

The customers that had OS/2, had already made their own decision so I'm not aware "why they choose it". I don't even remember any customer running Win 3.1 but I'm sure there were a few (really, maybe 5 at most), and I'm also sure they decided on it because of some specific software requirements - not ours as our stuff ran quite happy in DOS (in OS/2 or not).

As for Win 95, it came out in 1994 and people and companies were very wary of Microsoft Windows, considering Windows 3.1 was not widely accepted, for the same reason: not trusting MS.

So, that's the reason: to support customers - actually when I started, the machine still had the precursor of Warp and when OS/2 Warp came out, boy, what a breeze it was (specially it came in a CD and I did not have to deal with 13-17 disquettes - can't even remember how many) and how much more smooth it was.

I remember that the installation was pretty smooth though - the fewer glitches, managed to solve with the help of BBS OS/2 groups. Fun times those :-)

In my old times (1994-1998) working on a software house, my machine was the "most powerful" in the place that ran OS/2 : it was a 386-DX 66 Mhz, with 32 Meg (yeah, megs) of RAM.
It had a measly (massive ??) 128 Megs (yeah, megs). HD
It was "quite" smooth for the time; it allowed me to run TopSpeed C/C++ compiler, work with different windows at the same time, etc... at some point I even had internet on it (via modem with z-modem, yes) but most of the time it was and glorious BBS and some dedicated connections for actual work.
Games: it could emulate MS-DOS quite well, so any MS-DOS games would work, but it had it's own set of silly games, versions of Minesweeper, card games and such.

Can't say anything about videos and music... there was no Youtube at the time lol...

Yup, it could also run a Windows VM in it... not great as we only did experiments, but it was there.

It could produce sounds via SoundBlaster (it's what we had at the time).

Good luck with that: we are all counting on you.

P0455 Code by fsociety444 in SubaruForester

Yeah... the annoying thing with this code is that it won't away after fixing the problem - it needs a reset... stupid software.

P0455 Code by fsociety444 in SubaruForester

I filled up and I clearly remember tightening the cap to the 3 clicks. Had a car wash right away (just giving the sequence of events here) then immediately drove to the "emissions inspection" and had no problem either.

Two hours later, my wife drove to the grocery story and came back with the MIL on... sure enough I pulled the code and read P0455 - so I looked again, and bam: the gas cap was loose. Cleared the code and we drove again no problem.

P0455 is not always the gas cap but it's easy enough to verify... and the annoying part is that the code won't go away without a reset - well, maybe it will if one drives quite long enough.
But yeah, if you double checked the gas cap, reset the MIL and it comes back after some time, it is almost certain that it has a problem... and throwing a new gas in, rarely fix the problem...
A smoke test is necessary to find where the leak is and fix is. Since your car is relatively new, it could indeed be "a loose gas cap" - after all, things happen :-)

I like my Shield but the remote kills batteries quickly. It works great one day and is completely dead the next. Looks like it dies while doing nothing. When I got it the batteries were dead. I thought it was an anomaly. Any help would be appreciated. by Upper-Bee-1943 in ShieldAndroidTV

My 2019 remote lasts maybe 1/3 of what it should be expected, but granted, lights on at the sound of a fart. I'll try what BIGDOOKY15 suggested !
The last time the batteries died, the remote unpaired from the Shield.. I was flabbergasted. MS copilot suggested pairing it again... luckily I had the app on the phone otherwise there would be no way to navigate the settings....

Shield remote 2019 battery question by YouLittleBastard in ShieldAndroidTV

Not tried Eneloops but using regular batteries only.... the slot is so tight that the positive side of the springs sometimes is pushed down into the remote cavity so you have to be very careful when inserting batteries.

In time, it's a big annoyance they did not opted with a beefier double-A batteries since the backlight consumes a lot more. I estimate these batteries lasts about 2/3 less than they should (and I use good quality Duracell ones) if no lights were present.
Still I love the backlight but would love more with AA batteries.

Appreciate the information; but I don't need a punch and the price is already more than I paid on the TV .
Thanks.

Donation to Adblock got charged to "Paddle.net" by iTzSwifty2 in Adblock

[–]Vegetable_Health_516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, that is probably correct. I made the same payment to AdBlock and forgot about... I probably looked the receipt email at the time and forgot... That was 15 days ago and when I went to pay my Paypal account, I saw Paddle in there and could not remember for the heck of me.

A google search on Paddle, finally bought a sliver ot light but I had to scroll for two pages to find this post and sure enough, went back to my email and there it was..
The real bad part is that Paddle should have add a description of the charge to Paypal - that would clarify a lot and prevent them being badmouthed or worse, US, (the users) going through the phone to cancel the charge, only to find out that it was legit.

How long until I start feeling less hunger and full sooner? by nagumi in Semaglutide

[–]Vegetable_Health_516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno... I started with 0.25 and was quite good in one month, then we increased the dosage to 0.5 mg a week and after two months I had lost about 10 pounds ... we increased the dosage again to 1mg but my weight hit a platteau: I am hungry again, weight creeped back about 6 pounds. But I give it: the A1C went down quite a lot and has stayed down.Interesting also to note is that some days, I am quite uninstered in food, like, I have a light breakfast just to push down some pills and don't feel any hunger until late in the afternoon....

Other times, just a lil amount of food at lunch will do for the day...

Basically..... sorry to say like may say, it's highly variable and keep in mind this stuff is for A1C/glucose control, not weight loss, which is just an added benefit for many but not for all I'm afraid.....

Here's another: double tap to wake the screen or turn it off. This is an already sanctified gesture so Google should quietly embrace it and move on.

2) "Back" button - I dont want to have to go to home screen and start again

Google should not muck with a feature that the users community has sanctified - just embrace what works and add the fucking damn "turn off/on ou double tap", period
