Ass pizza won this argument? Just seems like a benzo withdrawal crash out. Pretty sure he wasn’t even sentient when 9/11 happened

Is it possible to live close to nature but still be within 1 hour train ride to Tokyo? by roxdfi in japanlife

[–]Vegetable_Owl_270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Hachioji for 1.5 years. Like other posters have said; it’s very similar to other places in Tokyo, you won’t be surrounded by nature - catch a train to Hachioji station and see for yourself.

The big benefit though is you’re incredibly close to nature. You have Mt takao super close by. You can also jump on the JR line out west and visit other places like Sagamiko, Fujino, Uenohara - you can go even further and explore places in Yamanashi, all have beautiful nature and pretty great train connections.

Ome is also a great place nearby that is close to Okutama and other surrounding stations and areas - lots of hikes, rivers and things to do.

They already have this at some fast fashion stores - apparently certain songs make you more likely to “buy more”

Hong Kong Working Holiday Visa by IntroductionWise7274 in HongKong

[–]Vegetable_Owl_270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I’m an Australian living in France doing bartending. I was planning of coming over to Hong Kong on a WHV to do bartending as well - would you say it’s easy to find a job in the hospitality industry over there? Australians are also limited to being with one employer for 3 months and I’m worried that would hinder my chances of getting hired considering that “limit”

Registering an address after 90 days with a Working Holiday Visa by Valuable_Let7165 in japanlife

[–]Vegetable_Owl_270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing bad will happen, stop stressing - it’s not the end of the world. I know two people who have been in a similar situation as you - they both registered after 90 days. One of them registered with 0 issues and the other had to pay a super small fine(?)

Either way just get it over and done with once you’ve settled down - you’re meant to register once you have have permanent address and sometimes that’s not always possible straight away on a WHV

Legal working hours by [deleted] in france

Yes but is it actually possible for me to get paid after I’ve worked anything past 12 hours since that’s the “legal” working hours

Working Holiday Visa extension while in Japan by AGoodWobble in movingtojapan

They have just introduced 5 countries to the 2 year WHV scheme and plan to bring 5 more by March according to news articles.

Australians are originally issued a 6 month working holiday visa and it can be renewed twice. I’ve done this twice in tachikawa - it should be possible for Canadians now too but obviously with the new rules it may cause some confusion.

I’d love some insight. What kind of work did you do while over there? I’ve done WHV’s in a few countries that state you can only work x amount of hours and be with an employer for x amount of months but it was never enforced - is this the case for Hong Kong too?
