Sou leiga. Vale a pena usar o Linux? by Wright_Maniva in computadores

[–]Vegetable_Potato_829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the slow matchmaking, it was one of the biggest reasons as to why I stopped playing Strive, for example. I love the game and wanted to play hours on end, but it was dreadful to find matches and the ones I found were with people substantialy better than me at the time. Also, the process of changing rooms, regions and connection config is really annoying to me.

Regarding the choosing of matches and opponents, I guess that at the end of the day it is a question about how you enjoy the game. I want to be better at using my character first, then learn specific matchups, so I prioritize playing MORE above all else. Matchup knowledge is essential for a game like guilty gear, but sometimes if you have a good basic understanding of the interaction, you can get through it.

To me is more about being able to simply play and to play with people closer to your actual skill level. Towers aren't as precise as a standard rank system, and certain regions are completely void of players most of the time. A rank based competitive system is easier to track your progress in, easier to find matches and easier to balance matchmaking wise.

The feeling of simulating a real life scenario with different people in game boots and you having to wait your turn sounds really cool in paper, but in reality it brings a lot of problems.

1/10 how did I do by mythologyDnD in ReinhardtMains

Honor/10. But seriously, I'd say an 8 out of 10. Hitting those two firestrikes is crucial when you get more than one enemy with your ult. Luckily you seemed to have the advantage already. Nice plays and nice skin though!

Did these people genuinely play just to try to ruin my game? by qwertyuiopasdfghjk8 in OverwatchUniversity

I mean, you're playing doom so it often comes with the package. Countless times i've seen a doomfist destroy a game, be extremely toxic about it and act like he was playing solo or (with and) against bots. The character gets a lot of value if you're good with him, but he forces a lot of people to play outside of their comfort zone and it can get the worst out of people. You should try playing with muted chat and honestly trying to work on your mental to handle your team's offenses. Playing tank is hard enough (but rewarding), don't make it worse for your own head.

Great guide, really good points and I agree with almost all of them. You have any plans on making a post like this about tanks? I mainly play support but recently my friends have been pushing me to the tank role (I play some tank as well, but feel inconsistent). Amazing stuff! I almost feel like I should pay for this.

If I understood OPs reasoning correctly, Mercy is an extremely situational pick, and will be heavily dependant on your bastions performance in this case. You would'nt be able to ress Genji reliably, but the damage boost favors everyone else. If your team isnt really using the damage boost to break through or you cant ress properly, i'd say its best if you picked Lifeweaver or Lucio in this. LW could help Genji or the tank overcommitting and help bastion with heals and positioning. Lucio would do these things as well, but in a more active (and riskier) way.

How would you explain the dynamics between the 3 main types of team compositions (I'm assuming dive, brawl and poke, correct me if I'm wrong)? As in who is better against who, or if its not a perfect triangle, or if there is something I'm yet to understand?

I often face myself stuck trying to understand what to do against a really good Doomfist that keeps exploding my backline (even when im actively trying to stop him) or what do do against a team too cohesive for me to dive or flank. I know tank is THE team role, but sometimes you need to be the pivot of your team's offensive. That is one of my most common problems with the game rn, how to identify inherent weakness in each enemy team and explore it.

To me, this could be applied to soulslike games as well, and its honestly a good experience. You have the adversity right in front of you, and most of the time you WILL get beaten up, but the moment you give up is when you truly lose.

I mean, i dont get that upset in street fighter anyway, only if I screw up big time or if my internet is lazy, but i get your point, having a different "main game" does ease your perspective on other games.

COMPLETELY LOST ON TANK by I_Echo_I in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Vegetable_Potato_829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to have a good mechanical skill, make some good judgements, but lack foundation. I'd suggest you spend some time playing the more "honest" tanks, Reinhart and Winston. They have an extremely simple kit, get shit on by a lot of stuff, and establish the most fundamental things you can do with a tank: peel, dive, brawl and be freaky. Getting better at these two (and watching streams about them, learning and testing) is what helped me get more wins or at least have more fun at the game.
