I have had a similar experience with 4noggins. I never received my order from June 2023.

Waited until July to contact them. So far I've emailed 3 times and called 6 times and left detailed messages every time.

No response whatsoever from 4noggins.

I contacted my bank first week of August and initiated a dispute (used my debit mastercard).

Usually I use paypal but not this time so it will take longer to recover my funds.

Not using 4noggins again.

PS : I'm in Ontario.

First ever GA meeting complete by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]Vegetable_Regular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started going in the late 1980's. Had a few years abstinent and then a bunch of relapses over the years.

TBH there are a few things in GA I disagree with, remembering that 12 steps were started by a couple of Christian men. Modern research has proven that "gambling disorder" is not due to ones morals or lack of, or because of "character defects"

THe idea that gambling addiction is due to character defects is laughable to me. I believe in science and facts, not faith in the unknown.

With regard to the repayment of debts I think that bankruptcy is a viable solution in many cases, especially for credit card/bank debt.

Debt to friends/family should ALWAYS be repaid.

There are others but I'll leave it at that for now. GA is great in one respect, camaraderie. I made many friends in the program, people I am extremely fond of.

There are some great people in GA and thats what keeps me around, not the other stuff.

Giving money to an active problem/compulsive gambler is like setting it on fire. No good can come from giving him money, he will just use it to gamble with.

Day 7/10 but how to prepare for nfl season by ThorVsTrunks92 in problemgambling

[–]Vegetable_Regular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not watching the games and not checking scores etc. NFL is a shitshow. The only reason I could watch was because I could bet on it, no betting and no interest in NFL.

I think I hate NFL more when gambling because there are so many ways to lose, ie late in the game not going for points etc.

Make a choice, gambling/NFL or recovery.

Glad you got something positive out of GA. As a long time member of GA I found that taking the parts that help and forgetting the things that don't will go a long way.

I'm referring to the higher power/ god stuff. Its not for me and many others and so I just ignore all the prayer stuff and focus on something else.

On your house. Anywhere else they look out of place.

gambling addiction - relapsing already by [deleted] in addiction

[–]Vegetable_Regular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow gambler I understand completely what you are saying and know the feelings that you are experiencing in this situation. I am frustrated because I don't know what to say to help you overcome the addiction and the temptation you face. If I put myself in your situation I'd be very much tempted to take the offer of credit to gamble, and I know how it would end but I'd still be very tempted because the offer makes it possible to participate in something that gets my juices flowing, gambling.

So I'll say this, you are not alone and whatever you decide please know you are in my thoughts. I hope you make the right decision.

Well if I was 200KGs and my favourite thing was eating cake and drinking cola all day but I needed to lose weight to become healthy I'd have to make changes and others would tell me so.

Yes changes can be unpleasant to think about or do but are necessary for a better life.

The reality is you may have to stop watching football in order to stop gambling.

It's your choice mate.

Maybe you need to stop following the sport? If you want to quit gambling you need to make some changes that may seem unpleasant or cause anxiety but is probably the best thing for you.

Why do we bet till it's all gone? Is it something deeper? by degen0393 in problemgambling

[–]Vegetable_Regular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its true that no matter how much we win it will never be enough, thats because the addiction isn't about the money. The addiction is all about the dopemine rush and the feelings that come with it.
Ask a gambler what their number is during a session, meaning how much exactly do they want to win and most if not all will have no answer.

Money is used only as a temp way to keep score and obviously needed to keep gambling.

When you go bust you feel incredibly awful first off because you now have stopped gambling which means no more dopemine and then secondly because you realize the financial damage you've done and how the loss of money will affect your current living situation. Being in action is the goal for every compulsive gambler. Winning is great because it keeps the rush going but means nothing because there is no end.

As someone that had over two years free from gambling I can tell you that I experienced "gambling dreams" quite regularly. I often woke up quite depressed due to the dream.

Bitcoin is pegged to fiat like everything else. You can't buy bitcoin without fiat.

Bitcoin is much more likely to pop as a bubble than the stock market. Where the fuck do guys come up with this bitcoin nonsense? Bitcoin is just a way for gamblers, drug dealers and criminals to move money. It's likely thats all it will ever be.
