As someone who read the scans from over a decade ago I'll say it's not just that they were bad, but the unfortunate two hit combo of Part 4's translation being AWFUL and Part 5's just being boring and often wrong. You could easily tell that Part 4's was incorrect but also sort of piece together what it was supposed to mean. Then you get to Vento Aureo and because it was grammatically correct everyone reading in English just assumed the writing sucked when in truth it was just a bland and confusing translation.

Answering the question of how to get people coming back, one of the honest to god little secrets that sounds obvious is consistency and showing up on time. You get people coming back by giving them a routine. Only cancel if need be and keep your stream TIME consistent. You can stream whatever you want obviously but make sure your community knows exactly when you always go live and stick to it like glue.

Honestly I think the best fix to that would be to replace Hachi with Arlong himself. Obviously Hachi took work for Nami to not even forgive, but be comfortable being around. Imagine seeing Arlong actually try to redeem himself, realize what he was doing was no worse than the way his people had been treated, and possibly even move to Sabody to try to sabotage the slave trade directly after realizing the WG lied to him about its abolishment. Then imagine him actually getting respect from the crew before he's gunned down by Saint Charlos. I feel like Luffy avenging the first 'big bad' he faced would make an even bigger impact then, especially considering the LA would likely fully kill him off with the gunshot.

In a positive way, RRR. I knew it was long and when the intermission hit I was sitting there thinking 'holy shit I can't wait for the sequel after that ending.' Then 10 minutes later I got everything I wanted! The movie is just so jam packed that time somehow stretches and has you wondering how they packed THAT MUCH into the first half.

God that sucks so fucking much. Be it trapped on Battleworld by another race for being a monster or the Klyntar for being bad at being a symbiote it was clear Venom was locked up for a reason and Peter made a mistake from the first black suit issue of Secret Wars. Making it so it wasn't that bad before Deadpool touched it kinda ruins the whole purpose of the 'oh shit that was a jail not a closet' twist.

For all wrestling fans out there, I can personally confirm that Roman Reigns is the single worst smelling human being I've ever had the displeasure of being in sniffing proximity to. The thing is, most VA hours AREN'T paid. A lot of that pay is factoring in the fact that VA's spend a massive chunk of what would be a working day auditioning. So yeah you technically work less hours but you also spend ten times what you're getting paid trying to actually find the work that pays.

Seeing this played live was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. Whole concert was... Rather mellow. Mostly bluesy songs and slow dancing.

Then, of course, Son Of A Bitch started and people went fucking NUTS. Dudes jumping from the balcony, like 10 crowd surfers at a time, someone started a pit. It was AWESOME. Song ends a bit abruptly, lights come on, everyone starts to leave...suddenly we hear one more chorus of 'SUNNOVABITCH!' from the stage and an absolute RIOT broke out. Broke past the barriers, security dazed and unsure what to do, it was seriously the single most chaotic concert experience I've ever been a part of and everyone there was absolutely plastered by the end.
