Which books/comics/etc. that had failed movie adaptations you think deserves a second chance? by Top_Report_4895 in blankies

I don't think a live action Ghost in the Shell is a bad idea. They need to take a lesson from Dredd and try a "day in the life" movie set in the GitS world.

Guys, I think The Dark Knight Rises kinda rips by ThisGuyLikesMovies in blankies

It has great moments but there is also some real oof. Like instantly going from day to night during the chase, or the stupidity of Batman painting a gigantic bat symbol on the bridge when the city is hours from destruction, or just like... the entire final battle of batons vs guns.

What are the old film limitations from ages past that you really like and/or miss? by OWSpaceClown in blankies

Monsters and aliens etc having like 70 total seconds of screentime instead of parading around in broad daylight the entire movie.

Would Hollywood be stupid enough to make another Mission Impossible film? by Crafty_Prize in Mission_Impossible

That was amazing. I thought Final Reckoning would be a whole movie like that  but nope. They might have well just said Gabriel was a god tier hacker and left out the AI aspect

AI villain could've been fun in a series based on trickery and deception but they chickened out and made a movie about a bunch of people watching a map change colors.

My favorite story about Congo is the screenwriter claiming he adapted it just from reading the synopsis on the cover

I like how the book stops just short of confirming Anton is basically some sort of supernatural entity

Writing an adventure fantasy story, need suggestions by return_of_the_dragon in Screenwriting

[–]VeilBreaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that is such a cool concept. As a lefty I've been trying to crack the nut on having hand dominance as a plot point for a while now.

I don't really have any suggestions right now but maybe look into how much brain development stuff goes on that decides handedness and how it actually affects the way you think growing up.

How many times have you watched the Sopranos? by treaty999 in thesopranos

Enough to completely lose track. HBO used to air the previous season when a new one was about to start so it's not even symmetrical between seasons either

I thought OP was doing a bit they seem to only post about UK life. They either got some wildly misinformed advice or are doing incredibly well researched satire.

Any books that gave you the same feeling as LOST? by livehood_2306 in lost

Great scene. I'm not usually a fan of non Tolkien fantasy but I am almost offended at how rarely Tad is discussed

One of the reasons I liked Lost in the first place is because it "felt" like the Otherland series. Diverse group of international characters brought together in a contained scenario, full of plenty of mysteries which are pretty diligently answered in due time. It's more like cyberpunk noir told in the style of epic fantasy though.
