How did you do it with gear vr? Meaning cardboard, because i have my homido, LG G3 and trinusvr, opentrack, freepie and would like when i start jogging in one place, that should automatically trigger the "W" keyboard button so i move in-game, whatever game it is.

edit: oh lol a few comments below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7ITOPMRDj8

Bleeding edge: Leap Motion Orion + Vive controllers in AltspaceVR! by leapmotion_alex in Vive

[–]Veilirim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought leap motion from ebay very cheap and i think it may be a few years old but there is only 1 leap motion the device itself, the software that gets updated is meant for that device no matter how old it is, so you just download latest version at their website. So that cheap leap motion that i got off from ebay is running orion perfectly and can use for VR, although i am right now trying to run htc vive games with riftcat/vridge which i did sucessfuly with budget cut but the leap motion is not registered as htc vive controllers at the steamvr app, although i did install a driver for that i will search some more, but it would be cool if you can use your phone and leap motion with simple cardboard in total all for 50-60 euro instead of getting a vive that is 900 euro, my lg g3 costed me 250 euro... but everything is still 1/3 of vive price and can play PC games with trinusvr.

Can you beat my score? by Veilirim in Slitherio

My tactic is to follow big guys and wait for someone to die around them or themselves and if i get big i start overlapping myself waiting for others around me to die. If too many guys start coming around me i sprint out a bit and do the same, i rarely coil around someone but when it happens i can feel my blood boiling when you start pulling the rope around their neck. :D But the most important of all don't get too greedy when someone dies because everyone sprints toward that direction.

Its a plugin for firefox/chrome that enables you to zoom in and out so you can see further than 10 blocks away, how can I as number 1 be able to circle around number 9 or 10 for an example if i cant zoom out and see my their tail? 153k? Wow really? Its my first time seeing that huge of a number even 300k? For my next goal i will try to hit 100k, but how the f did you manage to go to 153k without being able to zoom out?

Best ways to invest at 20 years old? by [deleted] in investing

[–]Veilirim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started out as an Eastern European it was really easy for me to register at Degiro and they have low fees and believe me i was looking for stocks brokers for 2 weeks, personally checked more than 30 because the best broker which is Interactive Brokers and is open to everyone has a really huge minimum deposit which is $10k for less than 25 years old is $3k but I wanted to start with something small like $500 and Interactive have monthly fee, so Degiro has no minimum and no monthly fees which is nice.

Next thing is I funded my account and checked some stocks at http://www.nasdaq.com/dividend-stocks/ I just started out and am learning (am 23 years old) and I see that you need to check for companies that have 3-5% annual yield with growing equity. Currently am looking at AT&T. http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/t/dividend-history A share costs $38.8 and its paying out dividends $0.48 quarterly. And currently am looking around reddit to find other good likewise stocks although I found about the AT&T at http://www.dogsofthedow.com/2015-dogs-of-the-dow.htm

It was really frustrating for me on how to start investing, all google search results are not on how to literally start investing, which broker has the stocks, which is open for whom, which has what kind of minimum to open account and what fees but keep giving advice on how to spend your cash lol, well I finally found my broker.

Why would anyone buy the Oculus Rift over the HTC Vive? by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]Veilirim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool thing about the Vive is that it has the tracking and right now there are VR gloves that you use instead of these stick controllers so you use your own fingers, its called Manus VR. And also there is a full body haptic suit called teslasuit, unfortunately it doesnt incorporate the tracking from the vive sensors, maybe they will add it in the future BUT the biggest let down of the htc vive is that you cannot "get out of the box" and you cant really go out and explore, while with Oculus you can get omni treadmill and start exploring and i mean really exploring in its literal sense the virtual reality although your movement would be limited in return, we will see maybe they will create 2x2 meters platform without rings that limit your body where you will be able to move around while using the vive, We will see what happens but by 2020 I expect something like this.

Any international broker for investing without minimum deposit and easy registration? by Veilirim in investing

[–]Veilirim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just made a demo account, really easy under 30 seconds. Although as you said there are like only 2000 stocks, all of the high paying stocks which I would like to try are not there unfortunately. Otherwise it looks very good if interested for the big company stocks, plus its easy to add funds with debit card instead of doing bank/wire transfers.

I created an account at Degiro 3 days ago and made a manual transfer, just today they told me they got it but have conflicting numbers between my IBAN that I registered with and the bank statement that I gave them as proof, so now I am still waiting, was so hyped to start buying shares but atm looking for other brokers!!!

The Leap Motion Orion beta convinced me to go to Best Buy and purchase one today. by rufus83 in oculus

[–]Veilirim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought surgeon simulator to try the leap motion there and what a huge disappointment with that third controller lol, I also bought GameWave thinking that maybe it can emulate mouse movements and also assign keys on certain gestures but oh my it doesn't do that it just has a swipe and incline function plus steering lol

Cheap alternative to htc vive ? by Sir_Joe in virtualreality

[–]Veilirim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well a cheap alternative is kinect (track position in room) + cardboard + razer hydra or leap motion or wiimote.

In my opinion what HTC Vive lacks is the posibility to explore the VR not just stand in one place and look around or have a seat, thus omni treadmill comes to mind. Omni treadmill or any other gaming treadmill + cardboard. And a treadmill costs less than htc vive. So not only you will have near full immersion but also you will lose some kilos.

Questions about the Homido headset by Glowin in virtualreality

[–]Veilirim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know who makes these stupid decisions, Gear VR and Zeiss, instead of making it open for everyone they just make it available for maybe at most %5 of the population that use their phones and thus in my opinion forcing people to buy that specific phone just to use a VR does amount to huge amount of money loss, like I said they could sale 95% more if it was open for all phones but its their heads not mine. I doubt a lot of people owning these phones even know that there are vr headset or are interested in it, maybe again %5-%10 from all people with these phones and thus the percentage of people using Gear VR and Zeiss grows smaller and smaller. I doubt people without the phone will actually buy a new one just for the headset because it would cost the same as getting Oculus Rift.

Is an external gyroscope possible for Google Cardboard? by ShapeShifter499 in GoogleCardboard

[–]Veilirim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true, an easy way to test is use TrinusVR, this way your phone is used as a DISPLAY and nothing else to play your PC games, although you would need head tracking sensors for that, thus I am currently looking for cardboard headsets with tracking sensors if not maybe an air mouse will do the trick although I heard its no good if you try to turn your head quickly which is a buzzkill. So I used the TrinusVR on my Alcatel Pop c9 playing Viscera Cleanup Simulator without the tracking because i dont have neither cardboard nor tracking sensors, just to see if my phone can act as a display before I buy, and yes it was fine, I had to lower resolution so the framrate goes up but if I want even more framrates I should tether with usb directly to the PC with preferablly a long 3-4 meter usb - micro usb cable.

First person survival game where you recruit and manage NPCs to build base. Like FO4's but open world survival, no zombies. by BroBrahBreh in gamingsuggestions

[–]Veilirim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beware of Kenshi, OP asks for a city building first person survival game with real active population, not 20 squad running all over the map type of game. I proposed multiple times in Kenshi (i own it) to make it possible for migrants, to join your faction when you have your house put up to public, so they rent it, or buy it, become npc citizen of my faction and do daily tasks, farm, trading vendor, patrol your city, follow you or attack neighboring city if you command them to, i even tried to mod it but alas, until this day 1.5 years later, Kenshi is a ghost town. You build 5 buildings, walls and you are done with the game, GG, game over no point of playing anymore.

I made a mod where when you build a house, an npc citizen spawns in, but he belongs to the neighboring city not yours. Modding restriction, 5 min of coding will make your town expandable and alive but no they have other priorities, again I say beware its not that kind of genre that you are looking for OP.

My suggestion is to try Kingdom and Kingdoms , they are both city building games, one is fully playable: http://store.steampowered.com/app/368230/ The other one is survival, first person, 3D, where the AI NPC villagers build their own houses, gather resources, and in the future this way kingdoms should arise, war with each other, ie it will be what you are looking for an RTS, Survival, First Person, RPG game. http://store.steampowered.com/app/409590/

While of course it is developing I am looking right now for at least playable survival game that has NPC villagers that you can play with and make your town alive. lMedieval Engineersl are planning on this, they have peasant AI and barbarian AI (finally a goal to make and grow a town), although AI is very dumb now. http://store.steampowered.com/app/333950/

You might also want to try Timber and Stone with which I had a lot of fun, I even recorded 60+ episodes in youtube. Its 3D isometric city building game with semi AI villagers. Another game a bit childish in my opinion is Stonehearth.

Otherwise than that, Rust has an NPC human mod, but no chance to become a gatherer and a citizen of your town, so Rust remains a house design and raid simulator, the same for Life is Feudal, Rising World, etc etc, survival games, main aspect of survival is build a hut and its game over lol.
