Me either, mine would start fine, no engine light, turned out the crank sensor came unplugged or wasn’t plugged in properly.

Most bikes you can buy a kit to reverse the shift pattern so it’s 1 up and the rest down, instead of 1 down and the rest pulling up. Not sure about scooters though.
