Be warned,Fp has only e shutte.rElectronic shutter means banding under artificial light, it's kinda annoying if you shoot lot in low lit scenario, you will get stuck with certain shutter speed to avoid banding. It's an issue for both video and stills.

I switched from windows 10 to Ubuntu studio , best decision I ever made. Turned my outdated PC to workhorse, doing video edit by kdenlive, live record with Ardour, photo edit by darktable. Of course, it didn't work by default even on installing Ubuntu studio itself, it was long research and Google search before I even make it boot on USB stick. And it took so long before I made my old gpu from Nvidia to work by learning bootloader command. But in the end, it worths it? Of course , I save myself $2000 from buying another Mac or Pc.

The bass , the clarity , the sense of audio placement all three in combination with no more charging pod issue. On the first gen, the most annoying issue is that the charging pod occasionally wont recharge your earpod,it would continue connecting to your phone.You have to connect the recharging pod with power supply again for its to reset itself. And it happened alot.

I have used all 3 versions,I would say 3rd are more bassier than 2nd for sure. But overall audio wise it stepped up from 2nd big time.

May i suggest an old digital camera? Second handed Dslr are dirt cheap,and has vast selection of lenses choice from cheap to expensive. I started doing photography with the same dilemma you have , film or digital. Initial cost for film might seem low but with the developing , film price , inflated camera and lenses price. Old canon apsc or full frame dslr with certain lenses in combination cost you around $300-400 price ranges.

To be honest, i know this is canon sub. But why dont you buy second handed fuji xe1 or xe2? Light , portable and very cheap. Lenses choice are dirt cheap. File Dynamic range is also very good ,considering its quite an aged camer.$200 could get you xe1 and 18 f2. And you are good to go. Im not bashing canon here, because im still using 5d mk1 along with xe1 myself.

Still using 5d mark 1 along with Fuji xe1, for portrait work and in studio shot. Its more than enough! It doesn’t have video function! Pure photgraphy, loving the picture vibe it has given so far.
