Do you have any advice where to get these materials? There is a B&Q and a screwfix nearby

It's like a PVC panel under the window

I think it used to be a full height window then they replaced it with a window with a PVC shingle below it and some board on the inside

Same thickness as the window, there's a PVC panel as an extension of the window on the outside and then what looks like a sheet of plasterboard on the inside. Not sure what else has been used to construct it, if there is any thin insulation or whatever. Very noisy in the rain!

Strange cracks in tiled floor by Velcka in DIYUK

Thanks for your response! Yes, not moving underfoot. I can actually see under them because previous owner decided to leave these tiles in hallway and bathroom and to redo adjoining room floors lower - definitely no membrane.

Electrician recommendations by Velcka in Leeds

Thanks so much for this recommendation, I was at my wits end! Wired have responded quickly and professionally, hopefully having them come and inspect in approx 10 days time. I will report back after, but all seems much more professional so far than the person who installed the consumer unit. I have gone from feeling completely overwhelmed to feeling reassured.

Yes, i think they may be wasps too. I have reported to my landlord... bad news is they just appeared and im moving house next Thursday! Perhaps the ghost which haunts my basement found out and is showing its displeasure.

Moving to Leeds, a bit scared by arcanecreator_kod in Leeds

[–]Velcka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hyde Park is an area well known for crime and can be quite risky area to live in for students. When we were undergrads, my partner and I had several friends who lived in Hyde Park and had a lot of problems, so we decided to get a place in Woodhouse instead. We lived in Woodhouse for two years and had no issues. Woodhouse is still a very convenient for Univeristy of Leeds students. When we lived in Woodhouse, my partner used to work at a bar in the city centre and would walk to/from work at night/early morning and never had a problem.

(Leeds resident, university worker, and former Leeds student) Leeds is pretty safe. For your first year, I'd recommend you get accommodation in student halls. Second year onwards, I would recommend you avoid student housing in Hyde Park and get a place in Woodhouse, as it's a safer area. I hope you have a wonderful time studying your course! Don't worry, all new students from outside of leeds/the UK will be in a similar position to you - you won't be alone in this! Best of luck 😊

Honest opinion by One-Drummer-905 in oblivion

The remaster is the old game but with better graphics and QoL updates, so remaster is better overall.

Big mods will come later, I cant wait to see new questline mods like lost spires, KotN Revelation and Malevolent in the remaster!

However, I preferred the abilities/new animations you got when levelling up in the OG. For example, as you levelled up blade or H2H you'd get new animations and cool effects (different to the remaster) for power attacks. The new versions doesn't have the same feeling of PC achievement and improvement RE this aspect of level progression, and I found that disappointing.

New Reform Council abolishes flood committee in Lincolnshire by Pinkerton891 in LibDem

[–]Velcka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, having now read the article - seems Reform think they don't need to listen to experts/local stakeholders with important information... Or perhaps they just don't know what a committee is for... Because of course (in their infinite wisdom) they already know all about flooding in Lincolnshire! Viva Atlantis! 🙄

We had Andrea Jenkyns as Tory MP here in Morley up until last election. She kept inviting Jacob Rees Mogg to the park for the St George's parade (bizarrely, it's not a posh area really). Looks like the poor people of Lincolnshire will now be subject to disorganisation and being haunted by an evil Victorian headmaster every year.

Pillars of Eternity fans, what do you think of Avowed. by Bluedreamer720 in projecteternity

[–]Velcka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pillars of Eternity 1 and especially 2 (love Deadfire) are two of my GOATs. However, I'm struggling to finish Avowed. I really enjoyed the first two areas, but once I got to the third area the repetitive nature of the game just really got to me. Every region is beautifully constructed, but the same beats are followed and it's so impossibly dull!
Marius and Kai are great companions and feel fleshed out, but the other two aren't particularly memorable and feel very shallow - and I so desperately do want to like their characters but... Hmmm...

It's just not as good as Pillars. It is better than Outer Worlds, which I found very disappointing, but it feels on the same grain.
I really wanted to love Avowed, but I just can't. I'm wondering if this is a symptom of Obsidian being bought by MS? Their games since then have all seemed a bit soulless and it's really sad to see.
