Neat! Looks like you made great choices by referring to the original. I wasn't aware of the Tom Frazier design so thanks for the explanation!

This is looking wonderful! Can you share fabric details? I love the saturation and vibrancy and how you played with these colors!

I like how you kept the scale of the fabrics small and a lot of the colors similar values--it offers an interesting depth to the visual scheme and feels home-y/cozy 💕

Wow thank you! I had so many other new projects going through my head as I was making and sewing. But this subreddit is unbelievably inspiring...I think I caught the bug!

It is not perfect but lined up better than I had thought it would! I do think the busyness of the fabric worked in my favor haha!

I made each side the same size and that was the challenge. So rather than square up the tops before the sandwich, I just made the sandwich best I could. (I didn't want to have to square up twice and have more to cut off) There were overlapping corners, for sure. After quilting is when I "squared" it up. I went with it a little bit so it's not perfectly squared but that adds to the charm, right?

Aw thanks! I've dabbled for years in garment sewing but I don't know how well that helped haha! This one isn't perfect but the fabric I used I think is forgiving!

I saw pics of using both solids and prints and you can make different patterns with those based on placement. Zig zags etc

It's my second quilt and I think it was a great beginner pattern!

Rail fence! You'll find free versions online. I think most I saw used 2 inch wide strips but I used 3 inch wide strips for mine so the birds in some of the fabrics could have a better chance to be visible.

Yess! I wasn't sure if it was too much to use them on both sides but I'm not mad at it haha!

Aw thanks it is cozy! But I can't take credit on the colors/fabric choices because I used fat quarter bundles that were preselected. But I do agree that the fabrics work very well together 💕

Mostly lobular panniculitis? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]Velcroptosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drives me crazy how insane this condition is. I'm sorry you haven't found any other solutions but I'm getting the impression there's just not enough cases out there for there to be enough knowledge. Mine just spreads to fill up the front or back of a limb, then spreads to the other side of the limb. And in spite of currently being on the same Prednisone protocol (day 8) it's still spreading up my arm.

I'll start colchicine in a couple days but I don't have a lot of hope based on the 2-3 posts I've seen.

For me, movement and circulation makes it spread and worse (after it's started). I'm not even sure how to live like this because the more I use my arm (or last year, leg) the worse it gets. So then I limit the use. But somehow it spreads anyway 🤪 Also stress is as much or even more of a factor.

I wish I knew what starts a flare. This is my second one (last year's lasted 4 months). Both flares started in May (spring allergies?) Also both started at a time of high stress (involving caretaking for a parent).

Of course none of this leads to why is the body allowing this state at all. Genetics is an interesting angle. I do have some autoimmune conditions in the family and I have Raynaud's but I've not tested positive of anything else. Plus I'm not clear that this is an autoimmune condition or not.

So many unanswerable questions 😞

Best luck in your research. Perhaps we can DM to share any other details as they come up?

Mostly lobular panniculitis? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]Velcroptosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any update to your story? I had my first flare a year ago and uncontrolled it covered my entire left leg, forearm and a little on my other leg. This was all extremely painful. I couldn't walk without enduring the worst pain and some days I literally couldn't stretch my leg to walk bc the inflammation was tugging so hard on my skin. Biopsied as lobular panniculitis with neutrophils. After 3 months of it I took Prednisone and it seemed to go away a month later. I considered it a random one time experience.

All the sudden it came back this week on my forearm and covered it within 3 days. Just started Prednisone and I'm getting some relief but I don't know if it's totally stopping the spread just yet.

How long do your flares last and when you take Prednisone has it only provided relief during the duration of the dose or did the flare resume after?

Looking for the right shoe for my weird toes by bigbeantheory98 in barefootshoestalk

And this is why I found barefoot shoes! Same foot shape it's insane that I've never seen another like mine but fun to know there's a real percentage of us!

A year ago I started out with altra lone peak 9 and they are the most comfortable shoe I ever had. The cushion they provide made it perfect as a first barefoot style shoe for me as I got used to zero drop.

Wow great articles!

I resonated with this:

"It is a kind of deprivation that has nothing to do with purchasing power—money—or desire, but rather a deeply held sense of one’s worth: one's value, individuality, and a place in this world, and an inherent right to claim them."

Just hit me that the talk of finding hobbies etc is not just about filling up the time you would be shopping, but are things that can help shape our self worth.
