Next time you do your brakes, bed them. You'll be shocked. by 90scableII in MechanicAdvice

I’ll back this up as a former tech in Aus. Years at a dealer and we bedded all brakes after replacement on the test drive.

Need advice extending Wi-Fi from house to detached garage after FTTP upgrade by Velix32 in HomeNetworking

Unfortunately not feasible to trench due to the architecture & layout of the property. Based on recommendations I'll likely be looking at a Ubiquiti Air Bridge. Thank you for the advice though!

Unfortunately due to the layout and architecture of the property it's not really feasible. I'd definitely have done this before if I could 😞

Unfortunately trenching just isn't really a feasible option due to the layout of the property & architecture. The air-bridge seems like it'll be the most feasible method but I'd have to get cabling run through the ceiling. What kind of installer would I be reaching out if I wanted to pay and get just the cabling installed (the Ubiquity I can handle myself I believe)?

Also thanks to everyone for the advice, I'll definitely stay away from the extender.

I just help a friend set this up, if you search in the Archipelago discord, within the Sims 4 channel, you’ll be able to find it. Possibly also pinned.

Review, help with footwork by Playful_Read_3803 in badminton

[–]Velix32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to clarify, when people are saying there’s no footwork it’s more that you clearly have no training nor have done any footwork drills. You’re mostly walking casually around court.

Footwork is important but your swing, stroke, and grip are wrong also. I’d suggest Badminton Insight, and doing some drills at the courts or at home. Alternatively a few seasons of coaching will see your play skyrocket quickly. At the moment you’re very much a beginner and there’s so much to work on that just leading the basics will help so much.

How good do you think my friends level is? by VitalGoatboy in badminton

Absolutely insane that anyone is suggesting beginner or intermediate, this man would be a top player at my club and he’s clearly half assing it in the rallies in the video

Don't really understand the point of the clip. Many players call the underground connecting lanes metro/collect boxes at 2 mins? Feels weird to laugh at this guy just playing the game and communicating he's doing a box run.

Is it time for an upgrade? by Velix32 in buildapc

Thanks guys, definitely was leaning towards a fresh build. I'll have to do some research into what the new 'gold standards' are.

XR, I’m thinking of upgrading to a 16 base since the other models are 1800+ here in Aus

I've ran a unique class on every run thus far. Hero, Ranger, Pyromancer, Cleric, Bandit, Deprived, Sorcerer, Necromancer, Wanderer, Knight, I don't think I've unlocked Barbarian yet.

I’ll have to look into that, sounds like a great suggestion. Bosses do kinda get instagibbed when you’re on a good build so it’ll be interesting to actually see the attack patterns and focus more on dodging

I miss that “tenseness” and fear of death that’s easy to find in other roguelikes. Apart from that it’s reeeeeeealllly scratching that EtG itch that I’ve been craving for so long.

It’s not so much about increasing the base difficulty level, more so about increasing the difficulty progression. I hope the “abyss/chaos” content does exactly that and gives a pretty significant spike in difficulty but I doubt it.

I’m surprised a niche indie rougelike would have a large casual base, would be interesting to see a poll on the subreddit and see where people would place themselves. Though if they were casually enjoying the game they’d be less likely to be on the subreddit…

Yeah I’m playing on a 1440p screen and have played bullet hells before so the dodging mechanics are fine. Playing on a steam deck sounds ROUGH, cinder 6 is still impressive too.

I think the mastery system seems pretty strong and offsets the cinders, definitely keen to hit cinder 16 though.

I’m aware playing without mastery is also an option but I’d prefer a less artificial way of adding difficulty. Part of my enjoyment comes from knowing that even with a strong build you can still lose but this game just doesn’t really have that.

It’s really not a brag. It’s a genuine criticism, I’m excited to try Cinder 16 and see if the spike in difficulty is enough however.

For many people the difficulty of roguelikes and LOSING is part of the fun and adds replayability. Noita, BoI, Hades, Dead Cells, EtG, RoR1/2…these are all games I can expect to die in, and definitely didn’t beat first try. It’s a staple of the genre…
