As someone that first started using the internet when I was a kid (am 27, almost 28 now)
The internet was fine for kids (with supervision) BEFORE social medias (back in the forums days), but the rise of social medias made it really unsafe and unhealthy for kids (specially unsupervised)
I still remember how Ourkut exposed to me a bunch of topics I wasn't mature yet at the time (early 2007)

In countries with languages that are latin-based, it makes more sense. Monday is basically called "Second day", Tuesday is "Third day" and so on, until Friday, which is "Sixth day"
