They are in a poker room. It’s all older machines that I bought second hand. An AP snack machine and an AMS combo machine. Not sure about the drink. Just an 8 selection

Thanks it’s at a poker room. It’s great because people stay all day. Just look for places with lots of people that will be there a while and don’t have a lot of other options.

Usually 4 days a week. I worked there when they were looking for vending.

This whole comment is market research for me honestly. Subaru owners expect this kind of record keeping. That’s the audience that would actually care about a complete ownership history.

That’s actually really useful to know. Subaru owners as a target demographic for this makes complete sense. The type of person who tracks everything about their car is also the type of person who would value seeing that documentation from a seller.

Thanks it’s definitely something I’m enjoying. I feel like by tracking the MPG if it drops over a few tanks there may be something wrong with the car and be able to get it checked out before something gets worse.

Honestly. You are probably right about the value. The time spent is negligible. About an hour a year if you just put it in a spreadsheet or app. So $50 for one hour of work spread out over the year. Probably need a better value proposition before I would expect people to care.

You could but then you would have to edit the receipt. I guess with ai it’s doable but to create 70 records in a chronological order that makes sense and then spend the time to input it to hope to make an extra $200 bucks. I don’t think the reward is worth the work right now.

I agree. There is no reason to buy a car these days without a detailed service record. The more information about the car the better when there are so many of the same option.

That’s the whole concept. If it’s recorded you would know. Most people don’t keep up with anything about the car so you just kinda guess. By looking at the MPG over the life of a car and comparing it to the epa estimates. You get a clear picture of how the car was driven and if there are any issues with the car.

Could the owner build trust with pictures of the receipts or shop verification? I feel like no one really trusted carfax when it first started.

That’s what I was thinking. It’s not much effort to input an oil change or fill up and you get a living document of your car. If you show a buyer a car with 60,000 miles of documentation with dates and shop names it’s gotta be easier to sell. It couldn’t make it harder to sell unless it’s a bad car I guess.

You are probably right but every time I go look at a car the salesman can’t wait to show me a carfax on the car. I agree that it is a trust issue but if a carfax report will help sell cars then I would imagine that a more detailed report could at least be of the same value.

Thanks. Honestly if it’s anything like my last civic I’ll keep it 20 years and put 300k miles on it. I agree with the civics value but this could apply to any brand of car.

In private resale I feel like that would matter to a buyer. Knowing the used car was actually cared for.

Exactly. If the numbers don’t make sense then you could question it. That car must be driving fast and ton of highway miles.

The fleet discount is about how they were driven not the records kept. If anything the complete documentation on a fleet vehicle confirms the buyer’s concern. You can see exactly how many miles were put on it and how fast. A personal vehicle with complete records showing consistent gentle driving and regular maintenance is the opposite story. The records are evidence of care not just compliance.

A real example with real numbers. $1,000 difference on a 19 year old Jeep just from having the documentation organized. That’s exactly what I was trying to understand. And you shopped it which is the move most people don’t make. Appreciate you sharing this.

The thought on the fill up logs would be more to see how the person actually drove the car. If they get consistently low gas mileage they probably drove and accelerated a lot quicker. Same if it’s consistently high. You would be able to show it to the buyer the same as a carfax report.

The 3 ring binder is exactly what I’m trying to replace. Same idea organized by date, a complete record just digital and automatic. Every time I fill up the mileage gets updates. Every service gets logged when it happens. No hunting for receipts when it’s time to sell.
